A few weeks ago I asked for some tips on chipping,Garyinderry posted up a video and I found it really helpfull it showed me exactly what I was doing wrong ie feet weren't close enough together and I was bending over to much.

Bobmac and Pokerjoke posted tips which also were very helpfull,

Today was the first time I've been able to get a game and three times I had good chips which resulted in one puts for par which really does help your score.

So thanks for the tips guys much appreciated.

Yup certainly one of the great things about this place. I read the article Ethan posted on that thread and my chipping is definitely better (well in practice it is!)

Glad to hear you are getting the benefits on the course

Never any harm in listening to well intended advice or tips and this thread proves just that, lot's of very helpful knowledgeable people on here.

Yep. Thanks to a YouTube video from "Me and my golf" that Garyinderry linked to in a thread someone had started about either fatting or knifing, I realised that I had been swaying on my takeaway and becoming very inconsistent and shanky with my irons.

What a difference it's made to my striking since I have ironed it out.

Big thumbs up to the forum

YouTube is an absolute gold mine. Glad to hear you are making progress. Keep practising and keep experimenting around the greens.

Its good to have many strings to your short game bow.

Lots of reasons this forum is good. Notwithstanding all the lovely reasoned and enlightening debate around matters nothing to do with golf - we get to learn and understand the rules. It's easy enough to read a rule - it's less easy, and sometimes difficult, to understand it - and more importantly to understand the logic of it. And when you understand something, you are much more likely to remember it.

Not sure if it's the one Rick, but this one was posted recently by a Forummer and I gave it a quick go during the few holes I played on Sunday and didn't duff a single shot (and got some very close).....got to spend more time on it, but the early signs are promising.

This is the best chipping tip I have ever seen. Just pull the handle of the club towards your left hip as you follow though. After a lifetime of rubbish chipping, I chipped pretty much like a pro today and made a number of up and downs. No fluffs, skulls, or shanks. Fantastic, and thanks to the guy who posted it! :)
