Is anyone else having problems with some nasty litle B@@@@@@@ bitting chunks out of their legs on the course? They are not mozzies or ticks, but they are strange looking little black things. The bites itch like mad, I have tried bite creams but they are not working.

Please, please, please, help me out I can't bare it.....:temper:

Does galvin green not make some hideously expensive mozzie guarding leg device in white, that makes you look a twit, for around 85£?

There are some nasties about at the minute! I have a bite on my foot currently, the mrs is covered in bites from some weird and wonderful bug and they are really itchy and emflamed!

I got bitten on the calf a few weeks ago, the whole bottome potion of my leg swelled, inc foot to the extent I couldn't walk or put on a shoe! Took about 2 weeks to go down! I blame global warming.

Edit: apologies for spelling, iPads are stupid.

i got eaten alive and my legs covered in nasty looking inflamed lumps after a walk in the park to feed the ducks with my grand daughter, seems to be a larger than normal infestation of horse flies due to the humid weather, had to use a liquid that reeks of ammonia.

I keep getting bitten by (what I'm told) horse flys. Pretty painful and very itchy. There persistant little sh*ts aswell. It must be down to all the stagnant water on the courses?

Not had a problem with my Ashworth dewsweeper trousers and black climacool sports socks pulled up

A friend of mine has some insect repellent which he sprays on his socks and he doesn't get bitten

Also suffering. Had 8 bites on one leg and it was so sore and swollen for days. Piriton helped though and went for the "drowsy" version so I got some sleep. I carry some cream in my bag - usual insect bite type stuff - and if I apply it as soon as bitten then the after effects are less severe. Whatever is biting at the moment is taking enough of a chunk that I feel it straight away. I have also started to use the Avon stuff (dry body oil??) recommended on here and have added some Lemongrass Oil to that and so far it seems to be quite effective.

Avon skin so soft is the stuff of choice for Scottish trawler fishermen and farmers I have been told.
