Things That Gladden The Heart

Is it true stuff sits there to get cold? If you time it wrong you get tepid pasties???? Revolting
There is some tax rule (or something) which means they aren't selling hot food, just food that has been recently cooked. In the cabinets, there are just normal lights, not heat lamps so the food does go cold if you are in at the wrong time.

We had demonstrators come to our building twice over the Christmas break, came Christmas Ever and New years eve. there were signs up saying the dates it was closed on the front door. once when it was closed fair enough, but why bother when you knew no one was there????

The people paying them didn't know it was closed and those demonstrating can't read the sign? 😉

I honestly could have put this link in the random irritations thread, losing weight thread, but surely this is a good thing.
Actually it is a good thing. a while ago, i read an article about how the hospitality & catering industry has completly missed catering to the GLP1 customer group - and this was impacting sales. One of these industries is the Ice Cream business. Something that is the opposite of GLP. They are really struggling..

When I retired in 2015, I treated myself to three pairs of Levi’s jeans for £120. All were different numbers/ styles. Quite frankly they have been fantastic. 11 years later me Goolies started dropping out of my 508’s. So am on the Vinted site and cannot find any. 🤔
So a quick Google shows they have stopped making them. Nooooooooooooooo.
Am gutted. They are the only pair of jeans that have made me short legs look slim but at the same time make me look like am “Bulging”.

There are folk on here that have questioned my spellings. Although spellchuck has it in for me. 👍

I can only apologise that I have posted this “things that gladden the heart” instead of “ random irritations”. That is deffo down to me.
Two things to note.
1, to many San Miguel’s have contributed to that.
2, me Goolies are cold going out in broken Levi’s.☹️

Off to the fridge for another beer.

Don’t apologise mate just enjoy the holibobs!

My dyslexia often makes my posts look like they’re written by a 4 year so have to edit them 😂

We can be in the naughty corner together for extra lessons 😂

I mentioned it as a go to for motorway services coffee a while back and the replies I got you’d thought I’d pee’d in someone’s chips and was lambasted for it being cheap crap 😂

Famously, Greggs actually copied the strategy first tried by McDonalds (with notable success) of investing in decent coffee beans and selling coffee at a keen price as something of a lower margin or loss leader product in the hope that you’ll buy plenty of other stuff too. So although coffee snobs hate the fact, coffee from either of those places IS cheap, but actually ISN’T crap.

It won’t beat a top independent (very lucky to have a good one where I live!) but it will beat most mass coffee chains so will be your best option in many locations.

I’m Hobbit, and I’m a recovering Gregg’s coffee-olic. Many times I’ve stumbled and bought a sausage roll or steak bake. On my really dark days I’ve bought jam doughnuts for dessert.

Bugger me (Ooh Matron!)
I've been looking for a new pair of jeans for months. I want proper ones but everyone is making "Stretchy" ones.
I looked at Levi's and thought "They'll outlast me by decades" (septaguanerian talking - but hey, I'm cool, and have three guitars 😎)
But three pairs!!! 😳
Tash, are you incontinent? 🤣
