Things That Gladden The Heart

We sold my wife's Kuga to them before Christmas, the bloke gave it a proper going over so you've got lucky there. Made her rev the engine as he filmed it and sent the video off to head office for them to listen for anything they didn't like, I'm no car guy so had no idea if this was nonsense.
The guy correctly identified that it was mis-firing, to be fair to him. But perhaps they don't care about that as much as we thought they would. He did make a phonecall to someone, so probably same deal as you, he'd have been checking how much they care about that particular issue. As we said earlier, they can probably fix these things in-house quite easily as opposed to us consumers having to pay 5 grand to a garage to do it.

The youngest passing her driving test this morning.
I don’t intend leaving the house for at least 6 months.
All of you that use the roads and pavements have been warned.
Apparently we are off to look for cars this afternoon.
Make sure you look for the insurance before you hand any money over. It can be really quite scary depending on the model you get. My daughter got a Yaris, cracking first car and as decent an insurance price as is possible for a younger person.

(ignore if you have been around the block on this and have been there before 😄)

When I passed my test I got a well done from mom and dad and then my own car.....6 years later when I paid for it myself.

She is currently googling to see what she likes at local garages.
Once she has a list I’ll then make her google insurances and tax.
I don’t think she knows they even exist 😂

I have said I’ll buy her the first car but I’m choosing it.
She is not very keen on that as in her words she don’t want a £200 beaten up old van 😂.

My American friend... when he first passed his test.. decided he wanted to Red Mustang. It was pre google days when you had to call the insurer. It was also very short calls

I remember my eldest Grandaughter after passing her test, bought her own car from her savings, bless her.
But at first couldnt understand the concept of putting fuel in! 😂 She thought mum and dad would be sorting that.🤣
She's a quick learner though.

Sounds like my wife, swear she thinks Fuel Fairies are a real thing as the cars miraculously have filled tanks when I’m about even though everything she gets out of them the warning light is on.

Another friend... got her first independent car after driving her parents car. She drove around effortlessly for a year.. then complained that it was getting slower.
A quick look at the car, and asked her.... when was the last time you inflated your tyres.

The blank look was precious.... 15 years hence still joke about it

Acc to her, you believe in Laundry Fairies.. everything gets washed and ironed automagically
Now I know you’re lying as I do my own washing and my wife never irons anything. She doesn’t know where the iron even is in the house 😂

I do all my own ironing I wouldn’t let her near it! If she needs anything ironed she uses her hair straighteners if she can’t be bothered to get the steamer out 😂

I was feeling a bit retro in the Christmas sales and bought two Aquascutum tops online. I don’t normally tend to like spending money in Ashley’s establishments but the Flannels sale was too good to miss. They arrived today and whilst the quality isn’t as good as it was, I’m pleasantly surprised. A jumper and a hoodie for £68.

Nice to get a bargain but I avoid Flannels like the plague, our nearest one in Romford is always full of either East Europeans spending £50 notes or Towie clone women dressing their 3 year olds in £200 Stone Island jackets so they look like mini-me versions of their dads!

Even back in the 70s that could be a problem. I had the opportunity to buy a really good Lotus Cortina but could not find an insurer to cover my wife driving it as she was under 25.

Children and cars

One day my daughter drove round to me and asked me to check the oil. There was virtually no oil on the dipstick - she had never checked the oil once in all the years she had owned the car.
