Things That Gladden The Heart

Don’t agree with this, the sentiment you make is based on the right ideas but….. it’s you’re opening line of “ and other things…all the time”

I 100% support the NHS what they did for my dad was unbelievable, they’ve been amazing when I’ve needed them for myself and kids.

However it is everyone’s basic right to complain about what their hard earned money goes toward if they feel it’s not benefiting them or they see an issue with how things are run. I do not begrudge any of my National Insurance going to fund the NHS they deserve every single penny they get, but I do begrudge many other things my income tax goes towards paying for what little return is seen in communities across the country for those that need it.

I can see what you mean but here’s a thing… is what you want right or is what Joe Blogg’s want right? Without wishing to start an argument with anyone, isn’t this like those that say we have to keep the BBC no different to those that say stop the funding. Both right and both wrong.

I only won £100 this month, not quite as much as I usually get. Still waiting for the big one, had multiple wins in a few months, but never had more than an individual £100 win on one bond.
It is not a 'win' it is a dividend. ;)
We have managed a tax free 'dividend' of 3.6% over the last 4 years.
Better than the banks.

That’s the point though isn’t it doesn’t matter who is right it’s just an opinion of the individual that has every right to moan about where their money goes. Like you say both right and wrong.

Last weekend at home with Mrs M before going away again tomorrow night. Usually go to London the 1st weekend of new year where we treat each other instead of big Christmas gifts. But instead we kept it local today and went into Reading town centre, had a mooch round the Oracle shopping centre got her a couple of nice treats, lovely bit of lunch out together. But most importantly she treated me to the new Reading away kit to go with this seasons home kit I have, plus a training vest do the gym whilst I’m away. Lovely day out and memories to take with me for a few weeks ❤️

They go out to the trade who buy parts at cost and no labour charges to fix them.
Sure, but we were very lucky that
A. The car made it there under its own steam
B. The engine light miraculously stopped flashing
C. The man at WBAC did a very limited test of the car's ability - he basically just reversed it out of the space and reparked it and that was it. 😂

Did you get a quote to get it fixed?

Two different garages told us it needed a new engine at a cost of £4-5k so wasn't worth it.

Guess they know about the engine problem and have made a call that second hand after being fixed will make it financially viable
Yeah I figure their method of operation is that they can fix these things relatively cheaply and still sell them on for a small profit, with the sheer number of cars they take as well. Benefits everyone really.

Waking up to a heavy frost...cos that's what's to be expected this time of year (and why me and my buddy got all our winter league matches played in December).
Waking up to a heavy frost when you're due to tee off, messaging your buddy, both of you saying "S*d that!", getting back under the duvet having agreed on a pint later.👍

Getting notification that my IEng application and interview has been successful. I am now eligible to apply for promotion - if there was such a thing at the moment on this job. On another plus side, I have been accepted for a new job with better pay, better prospects for advancement and more interesting work. A good start to the new year :)

We sold my wife's Kuga to them before Christmas, the bloke gave it a proper going over so you've got lucky there. Made her rev the engine as he filmed it and sent the video off to head office for them to listen for anything they didn't like, I'm no car guy so had no idea if this was nonsense.
