Things That Gladden The Heart

Drove up to Leighton Buzzard Wednesday to meet my mates for a pub quiz. They go quite regularly, but only the third time I've gone up to join them this year - and we've now won all three times. 100% record. 😂

I'm fitting security film on some windows at work. They were damaged a couple of weeks ago, the replacement glass was fitted earlier this week. I've done some smaller windows previously but found the hardest part taking the backing off it. This morning I read a tip where you put sellotape on the backing, hold the stiffer film, pull off the tape. It separates instantly 🥳. I'm flying through them, just one more to go (currently having a cup of tea and a warm mince pie as a reward to myself 😊)

So yesterday 17 of the lads from the fuddle went to Southwell races. Sweet mother Mary and the wee donkey. The weather was atrocious. Big up respect to the jockeys in that weather.
Anyway. What a fantastic day. Another three winners, and I won about £5. Some of the lads were betting serious money. Sod that. It was a brilliant bonding day. Had an excellent conversation with a guy who was adopted at 6 weeks old. He was asking me questions re being adoptive parents. Me asking him about being adopted. His story is pure heart breaking. Loadsa beers, lots of man hugs. Me brother and a PP started singing rugby songs with me bro playing the piano. He don’t play the piano. I have not laughed so loud in years.
Deffo on for next year.
Off to count 30 odd poppy pots at 12.00.

Managed to get Mrs H out of the house today after a few iffy days for her. Managing her colitis is hard going, and once again she’s gone below 7st. Popped into the local shop for bread, as we do almost every day. The shop owner made a big fuss of her. Then we popped into our local bar where, again, the owner made a big fuss of her - they’d already sent round a food parcel and, today, gave us enough roast pork to feed a small army - no charge. Even though the kitchen was closed for another hour she got her usual toast & jam.

Me and the Mrs always go out for Lunch on a Monday.
Got a phone call this morning to say our Grandson is not well so could we have him while the daughter goes to work.

The Mrs has sent me out for lunch on my own while she puts the Xmas tree up which will hopefully cheer him up.

I get a bite to eat and a couple of beers and don’t have to mess around with the tree (which I hate).

Win win

Unfortunately you're about two weeks early.

I have been fighting for the last 6 weeks to keep the tree down.
She would seriously like to put it up in October.
I wouldn’t have one at all, it’s a tree it is designed to live outside why don’t we put a Camel in the dining room it makes the same sense

I think a camel is more relevant. Plenty of camels & donkeys in Bethlehem.
