Things That Gladden The Heart

Just got back from spending the evening at Car Fest watching the live bands. Boom Town Rats surprisingly weren’t to bad, thought Geldoff was gonna die on stage at one point though!

Travis were pretty decent as well actually better live than on radio. But the real highlight was Tom Walker, hell of a voice on him and sounds so good live with a great range of vocal talent. Added bonus didn’t pay a penny for the tickets 👌

OK...ami the only one who initially, after some previous posts, read this as Cat Fest and wondered how big a sadist Lucifer is...?

I mean I’m probably one of the biggest sadists their is 😂
It’s also the Ginger terrorists birthday today, so am under orders to buy him a gift and a cat cake 🤷🏻 Mrs M will be cat worshipping the baby all day and it’ll be giving me that look of told you who’s top in this house 😂
So you think he was at cat fest watching the Boomtown rats. While wearing his crocs? 😂😂
I wish I had been wearing crocs! I’d genuinely wear them everywhere if I could 😂

One of the kids coming round to tell us we are going to be grandparents again.
Seems like yesterday it was us bringing her home for the first time.
Very proud of the woman she has become but she will always be my little girl.
Might of got a little something in my eye and seemed like a good reason to open a bottle of champagne at 10 this morning.

Sounds like the absolute best reason to me. Congratulations to you and your family 🍾

Met up with my oldest daughter today, we have a monthly father/daughter date and it’s my birthday this week but she can’t be around for it so she asked me out just the 2 of us for lunch, gave me 2 gifts both were lovely but one of them was a book style photo frame that holds 2 pictures.

In it was her favourite photo of her and dad from when she was little with her curly hair and me playing with her, the other photo was of me and her on wedding day last year wearing her wedding dress, a day I couldn’t be prouder of. On the back of the frame was a little inscription saying “you’ll always be my first love Dad x”

I swear the restaurant had some dust in the air!!

So took Mrs M for an early morning drive down to Durdle door, we had breakfast and coffee on the beach enjoying the Jurassic coast line. Then had a lovely swim out in the sea, munched an ice cream and came home for a nice relaxing afternoon.

Sometimes the scenery in this country just hits all the right spots 👌

Not sure if this is the right thread, but just listening to the Steve Wright tribute on R2. Great show and lovely comments.

Only trouble is Vernon Kay is presenting, makes everything about him.

I had to smile a few years back when seeing a picture of Durdle Door on a holiday travel brochure for Turkey.

I did a bit of my kayak training there.

Could almost be an irritation if it wasn’t Aug. Bowls club closed for up to 6 weeks whilst the old carpet is lifted, repairs to the base and general maintenance to the surrounds. But the temps and humidity are crazy this year. Aircon is taking a hammering.

It’s coming up to migration time and all the surrounding houses are covered in birds and the noise from them all chirping has fascinated the daughter , every morning she just sits there listening to them and when we go out to camp etc she says goodbye to them

This morning she looked sad and a bit teary - when I asked if she was ok she said she was going to be sad when the birds will leave so we had a chat about them coming back next year and showed her videos of it - so she is going to name the birds tonight ( may take a while ) and then wait for them next year 🥰
