Ours are 11, 10 and 8 and a bit less hectic.
When they were toddlers we gave them back around 6. We'd wave, bolt the door, pour two large glasses of wine and just flop for 20/30 mins.
Then it was "Right, let's reclaim the living room and conservatory!"
We love them to bits but when I look at their toddler photos I really pine to have those days back.
In our 70th year (same year) we got framed posters - 70 things we love about Grampy/Mamgu. All their quotes:
He likes cheese but won't share it.
He's got a beard, I haven't.
Sometimes he makes a noise under the duvet and says "There's a duck in the bed!!

Treasure every day even when you're cream crackered!

Love it, especially the first two paragraphs! Very sinilar in our house, aahh, what a relief, then tidy up and crash out! 👍
 
Had to collect some test equipment today that had been calibrated. The company is based at Portland Bill. On the way back to my place of work I must have seen at least 4 kestrels in the hover. One was at eye level and only just the other side of the hedge as I drove past. Amazing to see at such close quarters.IMG_3993.jpeg

Saw a Dodo walk across the putting green and a gang of macaque monkeys dropped out of that coconut tree in the middle and chased it into the wee stream where it drowned... I took the photo before I saw any of this 😄 :sneaky:
