I accidentally smashed the low energy eco light bulb in the garage yesterday when putting the ladder away.

Replaced it with an old school 100w bulb. Now I don't have to wait several minutes for it to reach full brightness, which was still not enough to illuminate the space sufficiently.

Go in the garage and boom, I can see!!!

Have you tried led bulbs? Instant light, no waiting for the low energy warm up.

I've given away our spare low energy bulbs now, changed the ones that we were using for led ones. Much better.

As annoying as getting a bolt in the tyre was this afternoon I must say modern day tyre pressure monitoring systems are fantastic

Driving along at 30 suddenly get a warning of low pressure, tells me which tyre and says 23 psi .. that's a big drop. Managed to pull over safely , heard air slowly coming out and managed to limp to the garage a mile down the road (no loss of handling either)

Also was glad how well behaved the girls were in the back of the car whilst the man changed the tyre

Crisis adverted

Been a nice day until then, Mrs and I managed to pick out new sofas .. unfortunately I've agreed to repaint the living room before they arrive which is before Xmas 😞

Unfortunately the system on my 2014 car isn’t quite so good. It just tells you a tyre is low, no clues as to which one and by how much. Had it come on when hitting a bump before and then when I checked the pressures they are all fine.

Agree @PJ87 I remember a time pre warning where you might be driving on a rim before you realised the problem. Definitely progress.

I've had it on other cars with the simple warning light and you don't know what wheel etc

I use mine every day now to check the tyres IE yep their still the same pressure

Shame the tyre wasn't savable but getting in and out the tyre shop in 20 mins was very impressive

Yeah we had the old ones before, I was told that warning can be a nail going in and then goes when it seals so always worth having the tyres checked

the budget - while largely signposted, it was a relief that my worst fears around messing with pension tax relief, tax free withdrawls on pensions or ISA rules did not materialise! Phew!!!!!!!
