Most of the recalls you do not need to know where you bought it from you just need to check with the Manufacturer and they have list of the serial numbers that are affected.

Got my tumble drier replaced. The fault was with the filtering system and the fluff could make it's way to the heating element, it was all over the news and the consumer programmes at the time. Mainly Hotpoint, Creda and associated companies.
Our machine is not of the batch with the fault…no can do on the free repair front…besides - machine is obsolete so paying for a repair could cost getting on for £200…🙄

Anyone who uses dash cams big shout out to these guys. Both my cars have power to the rear view mirror (auto dim mirror) these are adaptors for Kia / Hyundai (other car adapters available)

Takes 5 mins to wire

Much neater than doing it all way round from fuse box

Youngest granddaughter has had two stays in hospital in two weeks. She's also started with a sickness bug yesterday:(

However, she's walked with her walker this evening:)
Niece told me tonight she has an interview for a grade 6 nurses job on a childrens ward. Basically working with the sickest kids. I don’t know how she could do it.I would be an emotional wreck. 😢

Doing a job and remaining professional in this setting takes a certain kind of balls. Certainly not for the woke amongst us.

Send your neice my best wishes.
I hope you wont be crossing her picket line in 12 months time.

It was strange, there was 6 jobs goin, quite a few applied but only two had the full qualifications and got two of the six positions. niece had started her second module to get the full criteria. So four jobs were left vacant. They have had to reapply and the senior nurse who set the standard has been told to reassess the criteria required. Niece and a couple of others have been told to reapply. Oddly enough, she will be doing the job she is already doing but getting a lesser grade for it 😳

Fail to see where the difficulty, or indeed contradiction, there might be for someone who cares for the well-being of others being a nurse in a sick children unit. Indeed being the sort of person who cares deeply for others, especially those less fortunate, would appear to be the perfect, if not essential, qualification for nursing sick children.

Maybe I misunderstood the point being made…

With the very difficult stuff going on with my wife’s family, Valentine’s day, and the sudden shock of the passing of Steve Wright…I reflect…

Isn’t life strange
A turn of a page
A book without light
Unless we love we write;
To throw it away
To lose just a day
The quicksand of time
You know it makes me want to cry, cry, cry -

If you know you'll know - and some on here will.

The benefits of learning basic technical skills.

The subwoofer in our living room went on the fritz, flashing red light saying no signal. Did the usual cable swap out, no joy.

Replacement unit £500, checking online, average repair around £150-£180.

Opened it up and immediately noticed two capacitors with nasty black caps. They looked like fairly cheap caps for a “premium” brand, so ordered some better quality ones. Thought I might as well upgrade the other 5 as well so just bought a pack for £10.

15 minutes of fine soldering later and all back up and running. So saved a fair bit from learning to solder/desolder all those years ago.

Also confident of getting more than 4 years out of it this time with the better quality caps fitted.

Days like today when the plans just flow and adapt into lovely days.

We started with the usual Sunday swimming lessons.

Meeting eldests friend at soft play for 10:00 so managed to stay there until 13:30 which is impressive for kids to stay interested in the same thing

At 12:30 another of their friends (who we seeing tomorrow) randomly arrived so that kept them interested

Then my eldest asked her friend back so back to ours we go until they get bored and go home.

Kids playing with each other nicely.

Chilled 😌

Think I've said this before

Carpet vacuum

Bought a small one off Amazon years ago when the twins were constantly sick on their nursery floor

Anyways they not as bad now however pen all over the carpet!

It made light work

Almost a waste to throw the made up cleaning solution away.. I'm gonna do the stairs 🤣
