When your buddy went into hospital 5 days ago for a broncoscopy only to be admitted into an isolation room off ICU because he’s too ill to be scoped. Rescheduled for today but still too ill to be scoped, rescheduled for Wednesday.

Weight now 7st 7lbs, and 6’ 2”… concerned, worried and jumpy every time I see his dad’s number on my phone, which is every morning.

Beyond irritated.

From “Random Irritations” back in late Aug.

His weight dropped to 5st 12lbs. Eventually, they found a rare fungal infection in his lungs. Loads of meds, which caused liver problems.

Came off oxygen a week ago. Fungal meds finished a week ago. Physio started 3 weeks ago. Back up to 7st.

Came home today! Via a bar selling chicken strips - he ate 2 portions. One half of beer and he was singing with the pixies. He’s been in bed since 6pm but OMG 4 weeks ago I thought he wouldn’t last another week.

Forced out of Sunday League retirement due to lack of players. Have to give 3 players a lift due to lack of drivers. 35 minute journey to the pitch. It's about 3°c so I've got three layers on. Two can't make it so we start with ten men. Second half one turns up but our striker pulls his hammy so we're back to ten men..

And somehow we win it. 3-2. Unbelievable performance. Almost made me miss playing! 😂

Been out on the bike today, drove through Sherwood Forest to me mums. Flippin eck it was fresh. Anyway rode past Sherwood Forest golf course around the back of it. It looked glorious and not muddy at all. Then it went tits up. Got a bit lost and ended up at a place called the “desert”. That was fine but coming out it was just pit slurry. Sweet mother I was ditched and covered. 17 km later I arrived at me mums ditched.
The ride home was less eventful seeing as I knew where I was going. Todays observatio, I nearly flattened half a dozen squirrels running out in front of me.

Rewatching Modern Family and realising there's a whole season that you somehow missed the first time around.
I was at a big exhibition a few ago and at the end of the day was talking to one of my customers, from Spain. She had been on a stand all day, her feet were sore. It was the first time she had been to it and had worn smart shoes, not comfy ones, ie trainers or equivalent. Anyway, my mind went back to one of the very first episodes, the trip to Disneyland and Gloria's shoes. I asked if she had ever seen Modern Family and she instantly went ' Gloria?, they are so comfy' 🤣. As she already had a Spanish accent it just made it even better. Just a brilliant show.

I'm always late to the party - get most of my TV recommendations on here!

Talking of which - new series of Two Doors Down. I love it. Probably rewind each episode at least 5 times as you can't miss a line...

Never seen it. Can I start on Season 6 which is the only one available on Sky?
You can but you will miss so much. Why the characters are as they are, why they have developed as they have done. Ideally you would start at S1 and watch them grow. See if Disney are doing a 3 month deal, they often do, and fill your boots.

Agree with this. I think I large part of the charm of the series is watching the family develop and age over the full run.

Yeah, you have to watch from the beginning to see the kids grow up and become reflections of their parents and upbringing.

Football in England finally tackling the tramadol issue in the game.

An issue throughout a lot of contact sports - the amount of amateur/semi pro rugby players I know that take it is ridiculous now - it never used to be as far as I'm aware but there are loads that take it now because not being able to play on the Saturday is a couple of hundred quid out of their pocket.

Yep, it’s far too prevalent and people don’t realise that they’ve got an addiction. I do think football did the right thing by giving players 14 months to wean themselves off tramadol but the worry is that they’re on something equally as dangerous now.
