I swing with very little wrist break. My power (such that it is) comes from a big shoulder turn with the hands fairly passive at impact. My hands aren't big, I take a glove size between small & medium. Recently, I thought I'd try a midsize grip on my driver. It felt surprisingly comfortable, it seemed to reduce the straight left miss which I often get. This miss is worse with the short irons & I am seriously thinking of putting midsize grips on the wedges to see what effect it has. Anybody got any experience of this?

A thicker grip will make it more difficult to close the face at impact, which is handy, especially if have the habit of giving it a good thump occasionally. I have one on my driver for this very reason

I use slightly thicker grips (+ one layer) on my wedges as it helps to take the wrist out of the shot.

Too thick a grip on irons/woods leads to pushes for me

Worth bearing in mind that wedges normally have a .58 shaft and woods .60 or thicker.
