The worst song....ever

My least favourite song could be In Da Club by 50 Cent. I don't mind rap but he pretty much mumbles it all, and there's no tune or hook to speak of, even in the chorus. The entire song is just monotone from start to finish. I will never know how that did so well in the charts.

All day long, we will be wombling in the snow
We wish you a wombling Merry Christmas
All day long, we will be laughing as we go
We wish you a wombling Merry Christmas

:sick::sick::sick:

Now then.
Try not to think about that for the next few days.

Thing is…their stuff just isn’t - you might not like it…but none of it is the worse song ever. Just isn’t.
Isn't that subjective. If I think their songs are the worst ever then who are you to tell me otherwise. You however are at will to think what you will about them.

I find their songs a dirge, they are spoken rather than sung and over enhanced by techno trickery.

I get that, but are you honestly saying you think stuff like the ‘Orville’ or ‘The Birdie Song’ is better than anything by The Pet Shop Boys. Maybe you are.

Ah, wait a minute. This is worse than both the above.

Now Clout’s Substitute is surely a bit of a classic of the time and musically it’s not so awful (though my judgement on that could well be clouded by my positive memories associated with period 1976-1979), but the Joy Sarney one…oh boy…yes it was a real stinker.

There is a difference between worst song ever and what individual people do not like. Including "anything by the Pet Shop Boys" or "Phil Collins" might be an individual's views but not quite in line with the original question.

I will throw in

"The birdie song" - the last song ever danced by Legs & Co on Top of the Pops
"Shaddup your face" by Joe Dolce
"Agadoo" by Black Lace

They're all bad but the PSB earned rather a lot of money from they're rubbish tracks (can't even get myself to call them songs)

The most popular "worst songs" here are mainly the novelty records. I tried to stick to what purported to be mainstream, but were dross.

In my mind the "worst", but also somehow the best novelty song, it got to number 22 in the charts in 1978 despite no radio broadcasts or TOTP appearance,

The Winker's Song by Ivor Biggun And The Red Nosed Burglars.
