Cheers that's interesting.

Can understand the top 6 but surpised at this little foursome quite so low down

31. Torrey Pines - South (La Jolla, Calif., Farmers Insurance Open)
32. Doral Resort - TPC Blue Monster (Miami, Fla., WGC-Cadillac Championship)
33. Bay Hill Club & Lodge (Orlando, Fla., Arnold Palmer Invitational)
34. Greenbrier Resort - The Old White TPC (White Sulfer Springs, W.Va., Greenbrier Classic)

I have played Torrey and Doral and agree with the pros. I have been to San Diego since playing Torrey and turned down a chance to play again.

Torrey is a very average course in a lovely setting. It has been made tough with ribbon-like fairways and heavy rough, and can be a real dull slog. For the amateur/tourist, it is also often in port condition and the pace of play is only slightly faster than human evolution.

Doral has a number of picturesque and memorable, but not actually very good, holes with a load of utterly forgettable holes in between. Sort of like Miami's answer to The Belfry, then. for the amateur/tourist, it is also horribly expensive. Not worth it.

It would be fun to know who voted for which courses. I'm guessing those that disliked certain places have missed a lot of cuts there. I think for the US Open Torrey Pines was a great tournament but it wasn't even interesting to play on Tiger Woods on the X Box. I've family in San Diego and it isn't popular with many club golfers over there for the reasons Ethan has stated
