The Open - Final Qualification

Anyone going to watch any of the final qualification events tomorrow? If so, which one and is there any player in particular you'll be wanting to watch?

Was hoping to get a few hours in the morn at Hillside, but got one of those work meeting things. Damnation!

My club Pro, Ian Walley, is playing at Woburn.
He won the Luffenham qualifier shooting -5.
He's a good player, very accurate and seems to get loads of birdie chances.

We have a guy who works at Sunningdale as a member of our place and he reckons the New is in awesome condition for tomorrow. Should be a good field and only three spots up for grabs

Is this the same guy that has been playing on tour (but struggling) for the last few years? If so, I thought it took 2 years to get your amateur status back?

Just come back from Woburn, followed Oliver Fisher and Tom Anderson round, excellent viewing and both played some very very tidy golf. Fisher looks like he'll finish 2nd while Anderson will go into a 3 way play off for the final place!

Marquess was in amazing condition, so so good, almost disappointed Im playing the Duchess when there next week lol!

top 3 from each venue qualify, so +1 at Sunningdale. Matthew Southgate, Byeong Hun An and Chris Rogers the 3 qualifiers

Five no returns and four retirees at Sunningdale. I wonder if that means these pros and amateurs were taking up spots other pros should have had

I was surprised three players qualified outright and that +1 got through without the need of a play off

Actually we didn't see her so assume she was elsewhere.

Nick Played ok but not brilliant and not to the standard I think he'd need to get back to competing on Tour. Having said that it was a very tough course, giving nothing away. Pins in difficult positions. Only 2 scores under par at the close of play. Pity we missed Matthew Southgate shooting 64, that must have been some round.

Very impressed with the course. Never previously walked round the New. Does indeed look much tougher than the Old as many have said but still a fair test if you play the right shots.

I played it a couple of years ago and yes it was tough but I thought fair too. I would urge anyone who gets the opportunity to play it
