The Open 2025.

The coverage on Sky is so odd. I don't think the commentary is particularly bad, but all the little cut away bits feel so forced.

'Here's Josh trying to be funny like Ken Brown.'

'Here's Henni with some utterly needless graphics, telling us a very obvious stat.'

It seems like Sky have tonnes of money but don't really know how to spend it effectively on golf. How do the cricket side get it so right?

Yep agree - they love a montage and to use the fancy gimmicks and sky cart etc

I would rather they knock that on the head and just show the golf

It's funny how the BBC have such a smaller golf budget compared to Sky, but their commentary team is better and Ken Brown's little on course bits are superb. In fairness, I imagine putting together a 1hr highlights package is easier than showing coverage that lasts the whole day.

Always preferred the BBC coverage but it wasn’t flashy enough for some

If the golf was on BBC, I'm sure we'd all be moaning about their coverage in one, way or another.

Been years since I watched golf on BBC. But I have a fairly clear memory that the last time I did, it was awful.

I agree with some comments though. That chap that they occasionally cut to, who interviewed McAteer and Hutchinson, and who couldn't get past crowds to see McIlroy, is cringeworthy.

If they were cutting to an A-list celebrity or a players coach for 30 secs, it may be OK. But surely nobody gives a hoot what Jason McAteer thinks?

He’s superb like surely them ankles can’t hold up though
Yes they do seem to take such a pounding. There doesn’t seem to be much else obvious that could go wrong with his golf game or mentality (assuming he has a proper pasta rolling implement now) so this is the only thing I can see messing up his dominance for the next 2-4 years.

Scheffler looking ominous with that par save.

Odd round ongoing for Westwood. 3 bogeys & a double on 1st nine. 5 birdies on the 2nd!
