the national lottery proposed increase

good idea , just have million pound raffles . lets have more individual millionaires ,

which is exactly what Richard Branson advocated when he tried to win the licence, shame he didnt get it as people might not self destruct so easily with a £1m win over the ridiculous £15m-£20m+

I play footy with him on a Saturday morning, he's a lovely lad but he tells everyone not to play the lottery as he blames that for so much!

Sorry but I wouldn't blame the lottery for that, nice guy or not he sounds like a knob.

A million pounds and two thoroughbreds

So stick £2.00 on the lottery and manage to get 3 numbers up out of 49 (or however many it is) and you "might" win £25.00. Or stick £2.00 on a single number on a roulette wheel (1 of 37) and if it comes up you win £70.00 plus your stake back....
No brainer. Brighton here I come.....

The only reason me and HID still play the lotteyr is because stupidly we put the same numbers on from the very start, we know the numbers off by heart, so if we did stop and they did come up, it would be gutting, but that said in the 21years the lottery has been going we've won nowt more than a tenner.

A mate was ina syndicate and they won 110k between 11, so he paid for me and him to go on a 3 week holiday in the US, the rest he gave to family.

I occasionally play the euromillions but they are just lucky dip lines and I've had more success with them than anything.

Why does buying something you're into make you a knob? not sure of your logic behind that

and clearly, the two horses didnt cost a million quid, he bought a house for starters, and that wasnt a 2 up 2 down

It sounds like he fell in to the trap of thinking that winning a million pounds meant that he could live the millionaire lifestyle. A two up two down probably would have been a better buy in reality.
