The Great Shiney debate

I own a set of these and even though they are forged I dont use headcovers as to cover them up would be travesty. These are everything you expect from a manufacturer with Wilson's heritage. Small heads, sharp lines, looks to die for and surprisingly easy to use. Fortunately they play as good as they look. Remember it's not the size that matters but what you do with it.

Ive never been much of a fan of Wilson irons. But that has to be one of most stunning blades I've seen. I don't blame you for not using iron covers on those Sponge!

Well you can only get the clubs I've got s/h these days but I would say that for a combination of feel and forgiveness the old MX25's are hard to beat. The latest incarnation are the JPX 825 pros and I think you'd have to give them a try if you are looking for something to see you through as your game improves.

What no one recommending TM gear.

Ok I know I am a bit off message here not being into sexy Mizzies or some specialised make that gets people twitching but I love TM gear. To be honest - if I were buying a set right now I would seriously consider the RBZ irons, you can pick them up a fair bit cheaper at the moment as well. When I tested them out they hit straighter right off the shelf than anything I have hit - now they were being touted as longer but for me they played the same distance but were sooooo forgiving.

All a thread like this does is emphasize how bad some peoples taste is

Two of my mates have the Titleist 710MB's, both prefer my Orka PS9 blades ;)

I don't need to say anything, nothing. The pictures say it all really.

For a "Better players" club, they are really forgiving. Wafer thin top line, very little off-set, minimal graphics and decals, buttery soft when struck out of the middle and, all-in-all, just a classy looking club. The 64's are equally as good, but I couldn't tell the difference for the £200+ increase in price.

If you're a mid handicap player who is a strong iron player that hits a good ball these clubs are for you.

I'm non of the above. I only brough them becuase they were shiney

Cobra S2 Forged for me.

Small amount of offset in the longer irons. These irons stronger loft much like TMs latest offerings, for example the PW is 43* so be under no illusion your a club longer because of innovation or better play its purely the loft of the club. However I can't even claim that to be a flaw as once you get used to hitting them further the feel off the face is so so it's like running a hot knife through butter. These irons will suit everyone from Cat1 strong ball strikers due to the feel and power you get as well as offering mid handicappers the chance to play a more forgiving forged iron and be hitting shorter irons more often due to the distance though I didn't buy these for the fact they're longer but for the fact they are so sweet off the face.

That's probably more than 80 words but oh well
