Played the first round with my new MP-57's today.
Woke up fresh and was feeling ok. Made it to the club with plenty of time to spare before our tee time, so we got a bucket of 50 balls and hit 25 each to loosen up.
Was striking the ball OK and felt good, even my drives were accurate.
Bit of a putting warm up and off we went.
To cut a long story short, I played very well. Driving was good, short game was surprisingly good, I was hitting my new irons sweetly and everything was marvellous. Managed to go a VERY LARGE personal best 2 over through 9 holes with 7 pars and 2 bogeys. Needless to say, I was ecstatic.
What followed was quite possibly the most dramatic fall from grace ever! I managed to shoot 14 over on the back 9 with 1 par (on the hardest hole on the course) and a whole load of blobs.
I hate this game.
But I suppose I need to look at the positives: My new irons are awesome and I shot two over par (and was par through 5 holes).
Will be heading to the range tomorrow to try and find some consistency!
