I'm struggling to decide whether I should join one of my local clubs, or to join www.golfclubgb.co.uk , and continue playing as many different courses as I decide to. I'm pretty new to this game, only started last August, but I am utterly hooked and can't wait for long summer evening as playing on the weekend only just isn't enough to satisfy me desire to play golf. My worry is, would I be joining a club too soon ? I think that if I join, I'm then committed to playing that course for the vast majority of the year to ensure I get my money's worth. Or should I join golfclubgb.co.uk , and continue to wander around like a vagrant golfer ?

all comments and suggestions appreciated.

It's not an official handicap so save your £25 - if you want a handicap certificate then send me a tenner and I'll make you one for whatever handicap you want....

Or....find the local municipal, join the 'club' for £50 get a proper handicap and just pay when you want to play or just join your local club and play whenever you like - it's Wales so it can't be that expensive.......

I love being a member of a club, and couldn't imagine not being one now. The benefits are far more varied than just being able to turn up and play, it's more like a community.

In the club house after a round, chatting to other members about their rounds. Chatting to the Pro before a round and him throwing demo clubs at me left, right and centre to try. :)

Also in Cornwall you can pick up a county card, which gives you discounted green fees around the other courses in cornwall.

Membership for me!!

SammmeBee, Miaow !!!

Was that a cheap shot about the quality of courses on offer in Wales ?

:D

No you have me wrong - the quality of the courses in Wales is awesome - the ones I have played: Pennard, Porthcawl and Conwy plus the others I haven't are excellent - it was the cost I was inferring was cheap (which it is compared to the real world....)....
