Who played at the grove yesterday and didn't take a PowerPlay on the 9th?

Be honest or you playing partners will out you.

I'll name and shame Alex Narey. Apparently he had a bet on with someone, probably Tappers, that he wouldn't come last in his group. If he'd gone gor it he would have as he shot a 7 for 1 iirc.....

Lightweight!!!!!!!!!!

5 for 6 for me, missed a shortish one for birdie (the first and last the only holes i played properly lol). All of our group went for it, was def one -3 and may have been 2

6 pointer for me as well, longish birdie putt that looked all the way like it would drop but it just missed to the right. Everyone in our group went for it and there were no dropped points.

Went for it. Smashed my drive then proceeded to top my 11th or 12th 3 wood of the day about 15 yards (having playing in the AM as well). Then managed to (semi)connect with my 3, leaving me 100 yards.

A nice easy wedge into the green rolled back down the slope to within 4ft of the white flag. Two putted for my nett par

After missing my putt for birdie and leaking it about 5 or 6ft, I promptly walked up to it and "tapped" it in for the par. Not realising the ramifications had I missed it until Tappers and I were discussing scores whilst waiting for the Steve's to hole out. Good job too, otherwise I'm sure I'd have choked for -3 points!

Happy to admit to being a -3

Decent drive down the middle, slightly chunked hybrid second, well struck hybrid to get to 25 yards in three.

Had horrible issues with the greens all day, couldn't get the ball to the hole for the most part, so wellied the pitch on through the back then hit two short putts and tapped in for a seven for on... minus three.

There was one in our group, I'll let him tell you how he went about securing the -3. I was very happy with my 5 for 6. Best drive I have hit with the big stick for a while. Low 3 wood down the middle and a 9 iron just off the back. Two putts later happy as a pig in the sloppy stuff!

Shame I couldn't do it on any of my other powerplays :(

Knobbled a driver off the tee, then proceeded to hit a decent 4i leaving 170 to the black flag. After plenty of shouting and leaning I finished just off the green to the right for 3. Then as usual I managed to 3 putt for a 6 for 2

I went for it. Ballsed up another drive - 100 yards or so - then a clean 4 wood to leave a good 6 iron in. Trouble was I didn't hit a good 6 iron in and it finished short. Chipped up but the ball didn't bite and rolled 20 feet past. the 1st putt missed and sailed about 4 feet past so I had that knee-knocker for the safety of nett par. Held mu nerve and finished it.
Phew...!

I stood on the 9th tee with 23 pts so thought what the heck needed to go for it.

Drove to the dog leg then sliced a 3 wood into the cabbaged -3 pts

All of our group went for it, not sure if there were any -3's or not.

My head was telling me not to go for it because the someone said on the 8th green he thought low 20's was winning it and I already had 25.

Called it a powerplay hole so as not to be seen to wimp out, and even though I'd birdied 4 of the last 5 holes stood on the tee with no confidence at all and all I could think of was not taking 7.

Ok-ish drive, then aimed a 5 iron 20yds left of the big grass mound 100yds short of the green and pushed it straight into it.
Hack out and wedge to the back edge. The first putt left me about 2' to avoid the -3 and it's the most nervous I've ever been over a putt. All I could think about was losing 3 points and that I'd hear a camera click as I hit the ball. Thankfully it went in.

As it turned out I was nowhere near the leader for points but the gamble definitely put my nerves on edge.

I also have to mention that Pieman drove level with where the plaques in the ground were to show where Tiger drove for his 3 eagles in the WGC comp held there.

That's some driving. I was there on that 1st day and Tiger was miles past Darren Clarke and just hit the best shot ever - well done Pieman!

I took the powerplay and hit my worst drive of the day, a huge hook that put me in the fringe of the 2nd fairway! :o It actually turned out to be probably the best spot to play my second shot from as I was left with 248 to the pin, a decent lie, downhill, with no bunkers to contend with!

Didn't take advantage of my good fortune though obviously as I pulled my 3 wood a bit, leaving myself about 25 yds from the pin and botched up my next few shots to make a very ugly 6!

I guess Tigers tee was a little back from ours, but it was still a big hoof.

I went for the pp as had nothing to lose. I was just off the back of the green for 3 and took three putts to get down.
