Why have the Young England rugby team named themselves after an old region of Germany and Denmark?
Whats next , The Welsh Jutes.

The English roots are from the 'Anglo Saxons' (Germanic Tribes) who invaded and populated what is now called England around the fifth century. The other Germanic tribe the 'Angles' gave their name to England 'Angleanda'

The Jutes settled around the Isle of Wight and Hampshire. Not sure what they had to do with Wales?

Mods please be aware that Tonga is now a swear word in Scotland.

Still an amazing win for a country that has only a handfull of Professional players against the English thousands.

And most of them are from other nations!

A Samoan a Saffy and a New Zealander walked into a pub.
Where is the rest of the England team inquired the barman.

Glasshouses/stones.

You assume I am English.

The point I make applies to all rugby playing nations, including the Southern hemisphere and, of course, extends into cricket. Football is no better meaning the integrity of international team sports has completely disappeared making them totally irrelevant.

When did a team of Englishmen last play a team of Scotsmen at any sport?
