fags for one... and booze for the other! Could also tax folk that let their dogs shite all over the pavement, and anyone who can't prove that they've made an active effort to generally keep fit and healthy.

depends if you nr half way and give up... it could be seen as an active effort... in fact, it could sometimes be seen as too much of an active effort!

There are some things that might just be too contencious on here. Though we'd probably agree that this country has a huge financial problem. I doubt that we'd agree about possible solutions. Though one thing is for sure. Ultimately, one way or the other, we're gonna end up paying for it, or suffering in other ways.

Though I know that many think that politicians are a bunch of low lifes. I'm afraid that's what we have, and that's what we'll get, regardless of who gets in.

Though I get the feeling that this campaign has turned into nothing more than an x factor, jungle, dancing style , popularist grabber of undiecided voters. And let's face it. It's these that are ultimately going to decide who gets in.

I do care. But I don't believe that a) this is the right place to it and b) I don't want to get into a heated debate on this forum. Even if I do enjoy taking part in them occasionally.

We're gonna get shafted one way or another whoever wins it - anyway its going to be a draw this time so we'll be doing it all over again in 3-6 months time.

I genuinely think politicians go into this with a view that they are going to change things for the better. Then, when they get into office they realise how hard it is to change things, and they compromise,,,, we therefore end up with a watered down version of what they originally intended.

This is the first year whereby i have NO idea of who to vote for. Whoever it is, im still going to get shafted in my taxes / NI and the government spend will still continue to spiral on crap.

there are certain statements that I have been waiting to hear:
- that Britain does not owe the world a living
- a recognition that MPs work for us in that we, the tax payer, pay their wages, they do not pay ours; and they are employed to look after the best interests of Britain and its citizens first, last and always.
- a recognition that the employer, the tax payer, has the right to sack an employee, the MP, should they steal from us
- a recognition that it is the employer who sets the salary and benefits not the employee

there are others.

I have heard none of them yet.
I am not holding my breath.

My problem is that we all know whats coming yet Gordon Brown still tells us we can spend!!!!!

I would rather know what the damage will be so that we can prepare for it.

Still waiting for a party to come out and say they are going to heavily tax all these stupid wages and bonuses.
Also all these injury insurance claims are a farce. Who fixed them? The NHS, that's who. The NHS should get 50% of any insurance payout to recover some of the costs incurred when putting them back together.

We'll all be shafted soon no matter who gets in.

One last thing, VOTE FOR AN ENGLISH MAN, if you are voting in England, who ever it is.

I voted simply out of principle that my great uncle was killed at the Somme and he and so may others died so that the next generation could live in the relative freedom of a democratic society.
I have no particular like of any current politicians but anyone can stand to become an MP, us all included, and that is an important choice to have.
I think we need a leader who can inspire, none of the 3 main party leaders do that unfortunately.

Going by their campaign marketing policy, Conservative would win hands down.

For about the last 4-6 weeks I've had countless mailshots posted from the Conservatives, lots of e-mails, and this last week at least 6 text messages from the local party, including 2 text messages this evening reminding me to vote. Plus a phone call as well.

From Labour, one single leaflet through the letterbox on Tuesday am.

From Lib-Dem, zilch, zero, nothing.

Who wants it the most??

Golfmmad.

Why not an English woman? :D

David Cameron's family hail from the Inverness area originally, he has a good clansman's name! 'Crooked nose' is the gaelic translation of Cameron.

Ye'll never get us Scots oot of Downing Street completely! :D ;) ;)

After all the huffing and puffing wher are we going next. I think whoever does a deal with the Libs will only have a tenuous grip on power. I reckon like in 74 it'll be 6 months (maybe just the other side of 2011 at a push) and we'll be back to the polls. Problem is I can't see much changing either in terms of where we are as a nation and our problems or the overall result next time around
