TBH if I can learn to drive, then there genuinely might be some hope for me in the future.
Whats wrong with your driving?
Straight with a big slice - BIG time. Or sometimes a push slice.
But it's huge atm, not just a gentle fade at all.
I used the driver on :
4-Straight with a very gentle fade. On the fairway, nice shot tbh.
5-Straight with slice. Short and right. 1st cut of rough
6-Yukky hoik. Got under it. It came off the top of the club. Teed far too high. Short and in the rough on left. Just a horrid swing. Ignore for purposes of this analysis.
8-Push slice. HUGE slice. Very short and right. The hole is a dogleg left. I was somewhere just over the border in Kent to the right,
11-Another bad swing. Came somewhere off the heel. Short and left. I think I was standing too close on this one.
12-A better shot. Just held the right edge of the fairway. Straight but with a very slight push. Almost a good shot.
13-My best drive. STRAIGHT !! Not quite off the middle, but I'll take this every time for the moment. Still too short for the long run, though
16-Another straight shot with a huge slice towards the end. Very short yet again
17-Push slice. Deep into the trees. OOB.
Basically the shot is either straight, and slice. Or a slight push slice. The other bad shots I can work on.
Obviously the clubhead is hugely open at impact. I don't get this problem with my irons, or even with a 3 wood off the tee, so it's a localised problem with the driver.
Now, because I have this paranoia about being so short off the tee, then I don't want to fall into the trap of swinging gently, and getting a straight one 180 yards up the middle.
I know you suggest length off the tee is not too important. But for me it is. If I am destined to only have a 200 yard drive, I need to know that that is my personal maximum potential. I'm told a good driver uses his 'core' muscles to the max. I don't - yet.
Any tips / clues / drills / advice. Etc etc
