That wedding

I don't have a choice - it appears to be at saturation point on the TV!!

Oh well, in a couple of years they'll be on the Jeremy Kyle show - trying to work through their issues.. :)

They could easily get on the Jezza Kyle show already..... A dysfunctional family supported by state handouts, Grandad is a mental old racist, Grandmother covered in gaudy jewelry, Fither on his second wife and a Brother with a drink problem who doesn't know who his real dad is.

Brilliant!!

That really has made me laugh.. :D

Well, you cynical lot, I enjoyed it. :D

It's put the "Great" back in to Britain. Nobody does, "pomp and ceremony" better than us.

I'm so fed up with seeing so much disaster news and protest marches and destruction around the Country. Seeing everybody in and around London celebrating the occasion without a hint of trouble was like a breath of fresh air.

She looked beautiful, the dress was stunning, the whole occasion breathtaking.

Hope they have a wonderful life together. :)

Golfmmad.

AW, for all your shouting about the royals I bet you watched the majority of the wedding day tv coverage :) :)

You could as an alternative played golf all day and NOT watched any wedding stuff :D :D :D

WELL SAID THAT MAN>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

I don't wish them well.

I hope they have a thoroughly miserable life together.

It's nothing personal against them, it's just I despise the idea of the monarchy in general and they mean absolutely zilch to me.

Royalist or Republican, how can anyone not wish two people happiness in their lives? You mean zilch to me but I would never dream of wishing you an unhappy life.

The Monarchy is purely Ceremonial these days. The Queen has no real power. Yes she signs Bills into Law etc etc and she could refuse if she wanted to but it wouldn't happen. Ever.
You want an Elected President? In reality you've got one - Cameron. He's everything that a "President" is except he goes to HRH to cross the "t"'s and dot the "i"'s and put a squigle at the bottom.

Where's the difference?

If you think back to both World Wars the Royal Family was an integral part of this country's make up and as such the men who fought and died to keep us free were doing so for KING AND COUNTRY. If they had the same attitude as you we may well be living in a darker place.

I enjoyed yesterdays spectacle, I also enjoyed the wee drive they took in the Volante and I like being British. I don't agree with everything that goes on but when the sh1t hits the fan I trust those who defend our QUEEN AND COUNTRY.

I can understand feeling this way against murderers, rapists and so on but to wish a life of misery on 2 young people who just want to find a bit of happiness together and who have done you no harm I think is pretty sad.
I also don't agree with wanting to punch old people because they shouldn't be driving or shooting Kate Middleton in the face.

Live and let live

I completely agree with you. It was fantastic stuff and so heart warming to see everyone in London enjoying the occasion. A great day to be British.

Dodger - yes people are interested - a TV audience of 2 billion for starters.

Auburn Warrior - another set of posts from you encapsulating stupidity. A new low for you possibly.... congratulations.

Clubchamp - go and listen to your Morrisey records.

Opted out of the street party that had been organised, and chose to watch on Sky News.

Real sense of pride this morning. Proud to be British again. As said before, nobody else in the world can put together an event like that.

Snelly I think you got your Champs mixed up :

CC07 agreed it was a good day but 2004Champ got all grumpy.

I watched the highlights on TV last night. My old dad use to have a great saying about our royal family, their tradition and overall affection worldwide "the Japs can't make it, the yanks can't buy it and the aussies can't get rid of it"

I have to say it brought a wee tear to my eye thinking about my old man but also a wee chuckle as it is still pretty spot on. I thought the two dresses were perfect for her, it was a clever touch with the Aston Martin and a good day to be British. If I was going to be ultra critical I thought going back in the evening from Clarence House they could have given the crowds left more of a view of her evening dress. Other than that a good day all round

Saw it on the "news" when I got back from the golf.
Can anyone enlighten me as to why Al Fayed was invited. Am I missing something?
He wasn't invited and didn't go, but the King of Tonga went and they look like brothers! The BBC coverage got it correct but it seems some other channels may have said it was Al Fayed.

I thought it was a great day and very good for our country. The interest from around the world has been unbelievable. It's a shame William didn't put his foot down to see how fast he could take the Aston Martin down the Mall and back.
