I signed up to MD's newsletter a few weeks ago with the promise of a free gift. Low and behold I get home tonight to find a package for me containing a new all weather cabretta/synthetic glove.

So once again, thanks MD :)

MD are starting to advertise more. They use to sneal under the radar a bit which helped keep prices really low and competitive for some really good gear must have meant they weren't reaching as big an audience as they could. I hope they stay competitive as they have some decent gear (the Seve wedges are really good)

In a similar vein, I'm happy with my Benross kit. Similar company to MD, British based, prices kept low by not sponsoring tour pros.

MD are starting to make the push to get staff players onboard. Used to sponsor Michael Hoey. He continued to wear the MD hat for free as he felt he hadn't given back enough compared to what they gave him.

The wedges are great, I have to agree.

MD are slightly concerning me in the direction they are taking though. Their prices are creeping up with their profile and some of their ranges are now up their price wise with some of the mid range 'big name' manufacturers. Do not get me wrong, their gear is generally top quality but I really like the value offered by some of the lower priced manufacturers and would hate to see them move out of that bracket due to increased advertising and promotional costs.

I concur. The Seve gap wedge I have is great.

I don't know about this though. The 2012 range has gone up by about a tenner (the 2011 superstrong driver was £99.99) while the new one is £109.99. Still not up there with the £300 efforts from Taylor Made, Ping, Titleist et al.

How do you find the MD NV Drew wedges bob? I'm looking for a wedge set up for xmas and have only heard good things about them.

They are brilliant. Probably a bit heavier than vokey's I've tried but this suits me. I got them to replace Nike SV's and a Cleveland. I'm very happy with all my MD clubs. The hybrids are really easy to hit.
