Just a quick post to thank you for yet another wonderful prize on behalf of the best magazine, sorry the only magazine that golfers should buy! (Does that sound about enough a$$ licking? ;) )

Anyway I was lucky enough to go to American Golf in East Kilbride where I met up with fellow forumers, Nick, Stevie and Phil. On hand from GM was fashion guru James Mason who proved invaluable in colour co-ordination and fashion sense! Just a shame he left his guide dog on the train.

I wont bore you with the details but I walked away with a goody bag containing the following.

Underarmour base layer
Galvin Green shirt
Hugo Boss jumper
James Mason's jacket (don't ask!)

What a fantastic way to start the season, kitted out with a new outfit for nothing from American Golf. Thank you.

Mike Harris, if you read this and want to know how hard James worked yesterday just let me know and I'll provide you with photographic evidence. Lets just say he got into the swing of it.

I was woken up this morning with a few frantic text messages from James demanding his jacket back. A drive over to Clydebank to drop off the jacket and a quick coffee with todays lucky winners really had me envious of their great fortune. I'm sure they'll all be along soon to tell you all about their new £600+ custom fitted new bats.

Thanks again,

thecraw

PS James, I hope you enjoy your haggis.

I was jammy enough to be picked for the AG visit today. :D

Was met by James from the mag and Liam from AG who would be doing the fitting, I was there half an hour early as I woke up like a kid at Xmas and shot out the door earlier than planned.

Anyway we got straight down to business and I had a few warm up swings with a Ping S56 7 iron and was hitting it sweet but as I did not yet dribble in my pants ;) I decided to try the AP2 and MP53's as I had been looking at both recently.

I was hoping to get on with the AP2's, I have the AP1's at present and thought I would love them but it was not to be, my distance and dispertion was a good bit better with the Mizuno's averaging around 10 yards further than the Titleist's and Liam also said that the Mizuno was the better club for me given the data from the trackman and looking at the flight of the ball.
I also felt I had a lot more control with the Mizuno's and the feel was fantastic, not forgetting that it is a great looking club.
Now just got to wait a week for them to be made up and delivered then it's straight out and see how they go.

So as usual I would like to say a big thank-you to AG and the mag for a great giveaway it is very much appreciated.

John

What a treat! I had a great day and walked away with some top notch kit.

Really good to meet a few guys from the forum who were sound and good craic on the course. With Crawford even walking round due to an injury.

Special thanks to James who was a really decent guy and even got the pints in after the round! Legend.
