Don't you just love tax rebates??

Got my tax rebate through from being self employed last year and decided to treat myself big time ;).
Went an bought myself the following:

TM Burner 2.0 9.5° Driver
TM Burner 2.0 Hybrid (On route to me from A1ex)
Adamsgolf Speedline F11 3 Wood
Adamsgolf Wedges - 50,54,58
New Hotblade 12-Way stand bag

Anyway got these over the last couple days and got to use them tonight (apart from the TM Hybrid) and WOW, instant love for the new clubs! And I would have been on for a PB if it wasnt for my first 4 holes (haven't really hit a ball in about 2 months) but when I had got back into my rythem and warmed up I was playing great!

The driver what a revelation it is having a stiff shaft, 90% was straight or with a slight fade as it came down from the flight - won't exaggerate distance as I don't have a GPS yet to measure but I'd say around 270 after roll out - there was 2 bad drives but that was down to myself.

The Adamsgolf wood, this was purchased today on my way home from work, nipped into Direct-Golf mainly to buy a bag and look at the 3 for 2 offers on Nike clothing. I wanted a club for between my Hybrids and Driver so asked the pro and gave him my price range and said it MUST be a stiff shaft, anyway got 5 clubs together in my range and took the the simulator. Clubs I tried ranged from £79-£159, and inclued cobra amp, cobra baffler, Nike VRS, Adamsgolf Speedline and another which the name escapes me. Was obviously taking the readings with a huge pinch of salt but decided on the speedline just down to how good the contact felt and the screen was backing up my feeling with straight/slight draws, I was also delighted at the fact it was on offer at £79! Anyway took this out tonight and it played much longer and better than first hoped from the simulator, INSTANT LOVE! I had heard Adamsgolf made the best Hybrids/Woods but was still taken back at how good it actually was!

The Adamsgolf wedges are great also but think I will need to change the grips, any idea what grips would be good for wedges?

I also tinkered with my putting stance as my putting has been woeful and it seems to have worked a treat!

Looking forward to the medal on sunday, hopefully can get out there and finally get my first cut! Hope it was just a lucky day due to new clubs!

is that the 3 for 99 quid wedges? what do you think of them as the Callaway Jaws arent suiting me at all

for wedges I prefer tackier grips, had some black widow ones on the vokeys I had and really liked them (cheap aswell)

Yeah thats the ones, I got on really great with them today but these are the first proper set of wedges I have owned (unless you count the £5 dunlop 60° wedge I had and my old Blue ridge SW) I was originally going to get the Jaws (think DG had a deal on at 2 for £110/120??) but thought 3 would be better as I never had a Gap wedge and needed to replace my SW and LW badly!

I've got the
3 for 99 quid wedges and love them but then apart from my driver and putter I have a complete Adams bag anyway. I find the grips to be okay.

I got a tax rebate on friday from 2006, most surprised and I wasn't even self employed then. Hmmmm, what to buy now, I feel a real driver fitting (as opposed to the AG/DG try these 3 clubs and see which you prefer) coming on. Now to just find the right place in West Yorkshire.

For me personally I tried all the hybrids in the shop and have still come back to Adams. Its what they specialise in. Others may not get on with them but I love them. It shows the depth of their knowledge in hybrids that they have 3 different versions for different abilities. Ebay could be your friend.

Try express golf in Bradford (used to be Shay Grange). Just fitted out the shop and they are really helpful and have some good deals on.

I went there last time and to be honest it was the same as DG/AG, try these drivers and pick which one is best. I had a trackman or flightscope fitting but to be honest I could see how the ball flew on the range. I am really after a shaft fitting rather than an off the shelf driver fitting. I reckon I am going to head up to the guys at Garforth driving range as they seem to have the best reputation around here.

Really loving the Adamsgolf 3 wood!

Had a problem with the Burner 2.0 today, developed a rattle in the head when I last used it and it sounded 'dead' off the face and the ball was lucky if it cleared 100 yards, took it back to AG (I pass the braids from my course to my flat) but the rattle had gone but the pro told me to take it into a bay and see if it still feels the same. Was still sounding 'dead' and didn't feel right and wasn't carrying anywhere near what it had before the rattle so it is being sent back to TM for it to be checked out under my warranty.

So it should either be fixed or replaced, hope it isn't away too long although as I said, loving the adamsgolf wood even off the tee!
