Rob, i have always played on the basis of lowest gross score has the honour, and forget the points. You learn something new every day.
So if i get a par without a shot for 2 points, and a playing partner off 28 with two shots gets a bogey for 3 points, i have to give him the honour. He can try to get it, but he will have to be bloody quick.
I played the other day in a three ball stableford with a 17 and 22 handicapper and had the honour the whole way round based on gross scores. On points i think i may have played out of turn more than once.
