Any advice please, is there a special blade I should be getting? I have loads of tissue put aside to mop up the blood.

All this side of parenting is new, so any help would be much appreciated.

Cheers

I cheated and went electric 👍.

If you are going brave and showing him how to wet shave then I would go Gillette's finest and check out guides on YouTube. They have everything on there now.

Think I just worked it out myself with a Gillette something or other back in the day, father had a beard.
Don't the youngsters learn everything from YouTube and the like these days anyway?

Thanks all for the advice, not even thought about electric.

Ref that it's not rocket science, I agree it's not but you know what, I like to ensure its done proper and help him to start off with. However I do appreciate the input as any advice is something else to think about that I may not have considered.

Shave up or down , never across :D.
Electric for me, its been donkeys years ears since i had a wet shave, nothing worse than cutting yourself and going out with bits of tissue stuck on your face :ROFLMAO:

Tell him to wash his face with real soap and hot water first. It will soften the hair and make the blade glide more easily.

Also suggest he tries without a blade in first.

Yup, it's a bit like decorating; 90% preparation. If he wants to risk a proper razor (I don't mean a cut throat, but a proper single blade), PM me.

I would also recommend electric until you get to my age.

As the hair gets greyer it also gets thicker and electric just not seem to the job when it's a couple of days growth.

I now wet shave every other day and the person who said you cannot cut yourself with modern wet razors should have seen my face this morning.

I said lasting damage, not flesh wounds!

I did my first shave with my Dads blades.. used to watch him shave and make faces in the mirror. So when it started sprouting on my face, I just copied him.. not sure how the result was. don’t teenagers learn from copying Dads?
