Bloke at the range was watching me hit my driver tonight and recommended it to me.....anyone tried it?

Next installment of my student loan needs wasted on something haha!!

I was next to Gary Rankin (a well known ersehole who was quite a good player) and the other pro I know asked if I wanted a shot of it so I tee's up a rangie and let rip .... I creamed it tothe back fence at which point GR asked what I played off and I told him ..

Hi

I tried it on the range against the Machspeed STR8. It is a really nice club but had 2 major factors working against it.

1. The price

2. Its a Taylor Made

I purchased the Machspeed, more forgiving, straighter, cheaper and its not a Taylor Made.

Edgey

whats the machspeed?

Im going over tomoro to get a bash at a few, he said its not me its my driver, possibly just for a sale, but thats what I was thinking all along haha!!

I'm currently looking at the Machspeed, Mizuno MX700, G15 and MD Superstrong Driver/Fairway combo. I would consider Taylormade but they bring out a club every four seconds. Lost my respect big time.

Irrespective of the fact that they bring out a new model every five minutes (and it gets my goat as much as everyone else) they do make some very good drivers. With the new Burner superfast and the R9 being their main leaders this year there are some great deals on the R7 Ltd and the Tour Burners both of which are worth a look

I'll give TM a thwack but it does make you feel a bit stiffed in that your getting a lesser model. I'm most intrigued by the rave reviews on the MD and the reports of how ridiculously straight the Machspeed is. Not that fussed about length but tight dispersion and I'm very interested....

I'm also becoming a taylormade convert, precisely because they bring out new stuff every five minutes.
It just means that their previous models are usually well priced and since they're barely 6 months old they're still the latest technology.

I've never been convinced by Taylormade...

Right, so the pro shop dont have that driver in stock in my spec.

They wont have it in befroe friday, which is a gutter because its scary long!!

Anyone reckon they would do me a favour and gives a loan of a second hand effort to take on holiday with me!

I have had the Supr Tri in the bag for about 10 rounds now, it replaced an R7 Ltd and I thought that was good,I have it set NU + the heavy weight in the heel,Pro`s advice,I find it much more forgiving than the R7.
I find I have a much higher ball flight than the R7,and find I am much straighter, finding more fairways and at the momment about 5 to 10 yards longer.
Staying in the bag for a long time, would take alot to replace it. :D

TM would be more tolerable if they didnt launch every single driver as being ,the best, longest most forgiving etc etc.

We all know its replacement will be out before you get a round in with the current one.

Made the purchase.....it is about 10 yards longer than the cobra....at least!!!

I even got a free 20 min lesson!!
