Thoresby pit shuts in July and as part of our Cheerios, Tashyboy and a couple of pals have arranged a 64 man matchplay KO which runs til July and a 64 man comp (best 2 from 4) in July.

Anyway in the last 16 Tashyboy pulls himself out of the hat away from home against one of the red hot favourites. Oh joy of joys.

Well we played at Bawtry today and Tashyboy won 3 up an 1 to play. I was rocking.

My driving was atrocious but my irons and anything inside 100 yd was Roryesque.
I am going to bed tonight with my 48 degree vokey he has earned it. my course management was fantastic.
he gave me five shots with two in the last three holes and I remember thinking we will be done by then, I thought he would of battered me.

Anyway sorry for for bigging me up, but for one day and one day only.

Great stuff.. My employment ends in July, and all we've organised is a booze up in Manchester at which I'll most likely be abused once everyone's had more than a couple of pints...:D

I'm actively looking mate.. I'm only 41 :D.. In all honesty, I'm in a decent position. Never been extravagant with my money. Have a small house (which I love and is almost payed off).. I'm a man of simple tastes and pleasures.. Never chased the coin as it's just not that important to me.. The Severance package is good.. Won't be long before I'm working again..

Well played matey. Have you got alternative employment lined up?

No homer ave not. I will be 52 and dragging a couple of pensions, one small one medium with another medium one at 55, plus another small one next year. then me Notts miners pension at sixty and then me state.
missis Tash is working til she is 55, so in effect Al be retired , whoop woop.
retirement involves, golf, hols, City season ticket and looking after young grandson Tash.
spoke to lads who finished last July/ Aug and they loved not having to work until it got to the winter months, so watch this space.
very similar story to blue wolf in that I have never chased money, but had to work long hours due to the job which helped pay the mortgage off when I was 47.
what a massive burden it was getting rid of that. can afford proper Hobnobs now.

Ha, that addiction is being controlled by a process called "balls in my wife's hands".. Almost totally effective*

* Except for the fact that I have a set of irons arriving today at some point, but at the price I paid I'll actually make money if I decide to sell them ;)

Ha.

To be fair I made about 30 quid on the mizzys. Not to mention the free 40 quid DG game me for making a mess of the delivery.

So my bank account is now level for golf purchases. Apart from the new putter and set of Vokeys I've just bought....

Oh dear.

Enjoy the retirement tashy. My father in law retired in similar circumstance and age to yourself. He says it's the best thing that ever happened to him. You only live once!

Its when you use both 1st and 3rd person in the same sentence you are properly potty.

Tuggles knows this and i am trying to address it

There you are just thinking you are mad by just using the 3rd person, when someone posts this! I can't believe its happened. Hacker is not amused and may resort to using all 3 like a right whack job.

Without sounding boring, whilst working the medical centre at the pit, you see a fair few lads who have/had issues both physical, medical, physiological etc etc and yes they are the thin end of the wedge. but it keeps proding you to think your not here forever and you don't always have your health so am gonna give it a good go re retirement.

Cracking news. You've clearly worked hard to get where you are so now's the time to enjoy the fruits of your labour and relax and play golf and spend time with family
