Targets for Next Season

Target 1 - Enjoy Playing Golf
Target 2 - Enjoy Playing Golf
Target 3 - Enjoy Palying Golf.

What will be will be. As long as I enjoy it and the Company/Banter is good that's all I'm looking for

Is my new attitude. last year i played every week, this year not so much and i missed it. Like homer said as well this year was all about getting to 12, my target was so focused on hc alot of enjoyment was lost. i think im going to finish the season on 13, dead, which isnt bad considering it started at around 15/16

My main target is to join a golf club and hopefully that will be West Sussex. Secondary target is to break into said club's scratch team with a long term target of getting down to scratch. I am highly doubtful on all of them but have my fingers crossed.

Cheers,

Snelly.

Might have a look at a Bob Rotella book to try to get a bit more mental freedom on the course. I'm pretty sure my technical errors are caused my mental frailties that stop me committing to shots at key times.

Would like to stand on the first tee looking forward to a chance to make a birdie, rather than the atttidue of avoiding anything worse than a bogey I seem to have at the moment.

Attacking rather than defensive golf and pushing towards Cat 1.

Actually they will! In fact a dog is compulsory! :D

The doubt comes from 2 things. First being will my little boy be ready to join next summer at aged nearly 9? I hope so. Secondly, how will things go business wise? Times are tough and it may not be the best idea to spend thousands on a joining fee! Fingers crossed though and all should be okay.

Best of luck on both counts!

My targets for next year.

1. Play in a forum meet I didn't organise
2. Get my handicap down to 27 (anything lower is a bonus :D )
3. Win a competition that entitles me to a round of golf with Sophie Horn
4. Learn how to hit a consistent greenside bunker shot so I don't swear like a bastard everytime I land in one
5. Learn to hit a club longer than my ego suggests so I land in fewer greenside bunkers :o
6. Buy some nice new golf shoes because mine are a bit knackered and one day I might meet MikeH and I don't want to get told off
7. Enter every single competition run by GM as the law of averages suggests I'm owed a win sooner rather than later
8. Play a round of golf with rob2 and any other interested forumers at Stoke-by-Nayland
9. Meet Smiffy so I can call him a knob to his face ;)
10. Play in as many team golf competitions as possible as they are a bloody good laugh
11. Write two letters a month to GM as I've watched Shawshank Redemption and eventually they'll award me letter of the month to stop me writing in
12. Play in a mixed golf competition as I'm not sure there are enough male participants at my club
13. Figure out whether or not a blue wooden tee is the right length for my driver
14. Play an entire round of golf without uttering the words "Tiger you utter knob" or words to that effect
15. Play at least four new courses
16. Play against my brothers at least three times next year and claim the bragging rights again
17. Continue to take my littl'un to golf and fuel his passion for the game
18. Play to my potential at least once in a competition so that I can be relentlessly abused for being a bandit
19. Play a full 18 holes in biblically adverse weather conditions and have a good laugh about it whilst munching on a large all day breakfast in the bar afterwards
20. Enjoy my golf more than I ever have before
21. Get fitted for some of those Star Trek shafts that Ethans got in the hope it will take my game to places no game has ever been
22. Play a round of golf with Snelly so I can see him score level par using a rusty shovel, a pair of ancient hockey sticks, some old iron railings, a putter fashioned out of papier mâché and a semi spherical polished rock
