Just decided to sign off my stats for this year as preferred lies have come into play. 38 recorded rounds with an exact average of 80 (10 over) I suppose not too bad for a 12 handicap but I am not happy.

Next year is my first year in the over 55's (I ******** well refuse at any price to be called a 'Badger'!!!!!!)

My aims are:-

Stroke average 78 or less

To shoot under par

To play in club championship qualifiers (single figures unless you want to look a complete wazock)

What are yours ???????

as you can see my h/cap is high at the moment and slowly rising. BUT, my pro says i have a very good swing and before thought i was off about 10!which i was flattered with! my PB with a group of mates is 83, but i have yet to get anywhere near this in a medal! my nerves catch up with me and i get myself into some right states on certain holes and play some really stupid shots that gets me in deeper trouble!!!
my aim for next season is to break 18!!! big ambition, but really think its more than achievable!!!

Found out that setting handicap goals is not always productive and I actually play better when I go out and don't worry about getting cut or not. If you have a good round the handicap takes care of itself. I want to do a few thing to my swing with my teaching professional to try and make the swing more repeatable and tighter. Other than that its all about short game for me. If that clicks then I could get close to 10. If it doesn't I guess another year between 11-14 beckons but we'll wait and see

Lose some weight over the winter season, practice my ass off 30% long game 70% short game (80 yds in) and see where it takes me, hopefully back into 1st class. It was my objective for this season but my old club never played a scoring medal until June (3 winter greens).

Target 1 - Enjoy Playing Golf
Target 2 - Enjoy Playing Golf
Target 3 - Enjoy Palying Golf.

What will be will be. As long as I enjoy it and the Company/Banter is good that's all I'm looking for

If you're off 12 and have played to an average of 10 over I'd say there's something wrong with your handicap, have you entered any qualifiers this season?

I'm off 12 and would say I've played to an average of 15 over par.

44 rounds played - eek! More than I thought.
62% FIR
44% GIR
50% Up and down from greens missed in regulation
60% Sand saves
29.6% Putting average
76.5 scoring average.
50 birdies......no eagles
Par 3's are my best scoring holes, and par 5's are my worst.

Next year; go out and play, and whatever will happen will happen. Keep smiling

.

Average scores can be misleading, a couple of very low non qualifiers, if I took qualifying (medal) scores only I guess about bang on handicap, however a letter has gone in for the annual review as over last 8 rounds have played an average of 3 under handicap, again tho' not all qualifying, I think i have played in about 14 qualifiers over the year.

Good looking stats, my GIR's suck, therefore good up and down stats. Putts on green always look good too again due to poor GIRS probably about 40%

My aims if back in the uk.

1) join a club get official hc.
2) get handicap to 25 or less.

If still in the great white north.

1) score a PBS of <100 on a 6000yd course.

Cheers
Andy

Ps I could join the local course but I'd be paying close to 2k sterling for 8 months of golf per year (sod that), especially as I could get shipped home with only 2 months notice.

Get back to single figures.

Never went well today then?

Hopefully I can get to play a bit more seriously this year and drop the handicap a bit hopefully to around 8 but what will be will be.

Oh and you are right Bill play in the big meet Brendy is orgainising :D :D :D :D
