After being a member for 2 years at my club I've finally done it.... Its totally pointless and only happened due to a sizable back wind.

I finally drove our par4 17th.
Off the forward yellows it plays 340yrds downhill, late last year they removed a ditch about 40yrd short of the green. I've been hunting the green since. Was nice even if it only happened due to a good gust. Got it down for a eagle too. Walking off toward the 18th tee giggling away to myself with just how easy this game is at times.

Nice one Lump.

We don't really have any genuinely drivable par 4's. The shortest is only 320 yards but there's a copse of trees to go over (240+ carry) so most "lay-up" and go round. The only other one is 340 yards but it's flat. With a gale behind it's probably reachable in the Summer but the wind's normally across or into your face.

Good one at Wycombe Heights. 340 downhill (18th) - or should that be down mountain........
Reachable with a 3 wood.

Nice hit with a 3 iron

:D good hit getting it down there, was only saying similar last week we have a perfect hole at our place to make a genuine drivable par 4 but I would bunker it to make it a proper challenge of hitting the green.

We have one real drivable hole. Our 17th isnt drivable in normal conditions. But our par4 8th is 250yrds from the yellows. Very drivable but has alot of things to make you decide other wise. OOB to the right tight to the green. A green side bunker and a ditch 10yrds sort of the green. There is no rolling it onto the green, you've got to carry it all the way. In the winter its a nice steady swing on the driver. In summer is a strong swing with a 3iron

It was there so people had to think about what to hit off tee yes if you hit driver too well you went in it if people took 3 wood hit a belter not in it now it's gone it's made a hard hole a lot easier IMHO

Imurg am I right in thinking that is 6th hole at Aylesubry Park ? Just realised we play the same course !
