Well if you don't take a divot your probably not making proper contact, generally speaking you will play it high..lose distance and struggle in the wind. I used to do the same, the bad habit came from hitting too many shots off driving range mats.

That's a lot of club movement (complex swing) for a short shot, can't even see the club in the follow-thru as it's gone off the screen.
