Swing low, sweet chariot...

the first time I remember it being sung was vs Ireland in 1988 when Chris Oti scored a hat trick, I'm not sure if it started then, I don;t go any further back

Superb performance. The forwards were immense, especially Wood and Launchbury, the latter being from one of my local clubs - Worthing RFC!

I agree about Ashton too. Muppet.

As for the booing during the Haka or another national anthem, it is disgraceful. Booing to put a kicker off is rare at Twickenham though. Sad to see and I hope they stamp it out as it was only a stupid minority. It is much more common at Murrayfield in my opinion. Mind you, there is not much to cheer about there.......

As a Scot can we postpone this years six nations PLEASE.

Remember 2000 and Andy Nicol holding up the Calcutta Cup. Absolutely exhausted, soaking wet, feezing and shivering uncontrollably - but almost oblivious to his physical condition due to his elation at being victorious over the Auld Enemy. Happended then - WILL happen again - and 6 Nations 2013 would be top timing.

I really hate it when the so called fans boo a kicker.
Murrayfield tends to be over-enthusiastic schoolkids. That was something that would have got you in serious bother with the teachers in my day, at least banned from future matches.

Totally agree. I blame football. Booing anthems is standard practice in the favourite game of the underclass.

First time I saw/heard that was at Lancaster Park many years ago - it's been through a couple of name changes and a couple of rebuilds since then.

Changed my allegiance from my province (county for poms) of birth to my province of residence because of it.

Changed back a few years ago when the adopted mob employed Jamie Joseph - who should never have been allowed near anything Rugby after stamping on Kyran Bracken's ankle!

As a member of the 'underclass' that attends football internationals at Wembley I've never been anything other than fully respectul during the National Anthems and the same goes for the VAST majority of the others attending... I also go to Twickenham for at least one of the six nation games a year and a lot of the 'noise' of the booing of the kicker is in fact the 'decent' majority trying to shush the minority...

As for the Haka I wouldn't necessarily feel its appropiate to show it respect with silence... Its not an anthem as such... Have seen some teams trying to stare down the 'performance' ... As a challenge to it...

And the draw for World Cup 2015 has been done - in 2012!!!

England, Wales and Australia in the same Group! Whoever gets through out of those 3 will be 'battle-hardened', which seems almost to be a requirement for the later stages.

Back in 2009 I had dinner with Robbie Deans' wife Penny in Christchurch..........................just thought I'd drop that one in.

Slime.

P.S. She's a lovely lady too.

If only we could bottle that form, because we would hammer allcomers playing that way. Ireland have a soft group tho'.
