Plenty of slots at a certain supermarket (Staffs) Pickers sent home early nowt to do. Drivers going out in pairs instead of singles. Me? Nothing to do at all. Went for a jolly drive with one of the drivers who had something to do. Lockdown my rear end. Everyone is out shopping for themselves now. So if you are in Staffs and want a home delivery slot, it's very quiet on Sunday.

Are you complaining about people not following the lock down whilst you go for a “jolly drive” ?

I noticed two man thing from the off. My neighbour has always had home delivery and suddenly during lock down it went from one man doing it to two men doing it.

My son is probably happy, when lock down came in he could get a home delivery (he too always had it) and had to start going to the supermarket for himself. He was getting really annoyed about it -paying for a service he could not get and out in the long queues when he should be working.

Not happening round our way. Driver today owns a Gin Bar and has been doing deliveries for 3 weeks, said they are employing loads to increase the amount of deliveries. Tesco this is. If I want a slot it's still a queue at midnight for 15 minutes to get one, they release again at 7am and 5pm but they just seem to disapear in seconds.

Makes a change from normal customers getting annoyed by collectors blocking the isles for folk getting home deliveries.

We're delighted with our Tesco delivery service, going to keep it going after this crisis is over .
Only problem is we don't know what to do with all the Bags for Life we're getting for free, containing our shopping , approx 10 every week, mostly for alcohol :D:eek:

My delivery driver today said his store was getting through an extra 30,000 a day, said it was a nightmare and also said they can't take them back either

My son normally gets what is bagged in the cheap bags but previously they would come in to his kitchen so that the plastic trays were unpacked I guess they leave it outside now.

My daughter left home last year and the amount of bags in her bedroom brings me to believe that for her life = the time it takes to get home.

I’m keeping all the delivery bags ready to recycle when I next visit.

I suspect we will have more competition for deliveries after this is all over as we never used to have any trouble getting a slot, probably different from now on!

Mostly?

Where the fluff do you get this from? It really plisses me off with some people on here. I'm saying that there are slots available, despite what you are hearing to the contrary, and I, being one of the said drivers, had nothing to do on my bit so went out to give another driver a helping hand. But if you really want a delivery slot get in there in a SUNDAY because we always seem to be quiet on a SUNDAY.

Got that? Give me flamin' strength!.

I sick of arguing the toss on here. I'm gonna stick to FB for a while. You lot can argue yourselves to death.

PS
This meant that golf courses could open, and the R&A has confirmed that.
“Golf can resume in England on Wednesday following the latest update by the UK Government,” the R&A said in a joint statement with golf’s stakeholders and home unions.

What the hell has the R+A got to do with it all? THe government said we can play, the R+A can go do one. There job is not to tell us when we can play...apparently.

Personally, I think that if you are not shielding or self isolating, you should go and do your own shopping and leave the delivery to those who have no way of getting to the shops. I am fit and healthy and, yes, I have to queue for a short time but at least someone who needs a delivery can get one

Just read your own post and you will know.

" the R&A said in a joint statement with golf’s stakeholders and home unions."

They have got together for a joint approach to the government. Whatever the government states, your national union - England Golf in your case - will tell clubs if they can open, and under what restrictions.
