Taken advantage of the good weather to play yesterday and today. Played on my own yesterday and didn't think the sun would be that strong. WRONG. Ended up looking like a swan vesta and the bald patch was very sore this morning. Finally managed to hit the ball pretty well all the way round and had 35 points which was pleasing. Out in the roll up this morning with the suncream on. Had the new myjoy Icons out and they were inspiring me on the front nine. 17 points and I threw away three points missing greens from 130 yards or less.

Think the sun got to me as I started to feel really tired and a bit shaky by the 14th despite drinking loads of water. The last few holes suffered as a result and 29 points doesn't do the ball striking justice. Monthly stableford tomorrow and looking forward to maybe getting a decent competitive score in for a change. Don't you love this weather and hopefully it is here for the whole summer now. Even the duffed ones don't seem quite so bad.

I did notice how quickly the greens had firmed up though and approaches were bouncing on a bit. The had definitely quickened up too in the last few days with the sun on them. Happy days though even if the shower will be a bit painful in the morning. Ouchy

Swally the lucozade as well as water. Will help even out the troughs in your control and energy levels.

Also got burned yesrerday on arms and neck.

However after months sitting inside in cold dreary weather watching guys playing in tee - shirts on the box it was nice to be out there doing the same.

First medal of the year and my first individual comp since 2009. Thankfully non - qualifying due to work on the course. Ball striking wasn't too bad but the putting was woeful. Greens still very bumpy and well sanded. Never got the pace or felt confident with the line. Couple of triples (including a 4 putt :o ) and doubles, but also a birdie, some good pars and unlucky bogies.

Can't wait for next week. :)

Cracking weather this weekend. Played yesterday and today, both times in shorts, which was nice! The course is looking beautiful, it really is, the difference between last week even, is remarkable.

Homer, you were a member here for years, did you ever play the new members matches? I am playing in this years match next Sunday :-) I'm up first with my partner against the new captain (from last Wednesday) and the old Captain 4ball better ball i believe. Really looking forward to it too. Once all the matches follow us in, the old members treat us newbies to a buffect lunch :-)

Had a cracking 4 ball today too, who were the guys you played with mostly when you were a member homer?

Cheers

Fair to say i caught the sun yesterday aswell!

Played utter garbage the first 10 holes and even had the first falling out with the 910. As usual though, once i'd stopped caring i played the last 8 holes out my skin to end up with 33 pts. Fairly happy after the wqy i started out.

I think the weather has brought the best out in my game. 38 points yesterday and just missed a board competition by 1 point.
Great scratch match today winning 2&1.

Looking good for Woodhall Spa at the weekend. :D
