Those unlucky enough to play with me at Goswick will no doubt be amazed that in Sundays medal, despite missing an 8" putt (which initially would have missed left, then jinked right, then ended up behind the hole, winter greens, don't you love 'em), hitting my usual 70 yard shank (followed by a rare 3 putt), knifing a couple through the back, etc, still posted a 10 over par.

This has me back down to 11.3. Who would have thought it.

Just shows, form is temporary, class is....

temporary.

I don't know how you managed to play after Fri & Sat then a 5 hr drive to get home. Sunday was definately a day of rest for me!

Just try not to think about the wee shanks. Connit to the shot and swing through it.

Thanks guys. I probably wouldn't have played, but I didn't want to let my playing partners down. You know the drill, name in the book, show up.

Plan next saturday is to go down the practice ground, mark out 70 yards, and spend an hour hitting balls to this distance to gain a bit of confidence.

Agreed Leftie.

Didn't actually follow Murph's group at the soggy Crowborough slow play day, but from what I did hear and see, single figures should be beckoning this year...

he played very well indeed on the back nine on Saturday. Didn't waste much at all.

Maybe his odd shank is there to lull us into a false sense of security

Even at my best I wouldn't have liked to play against his back nine form.

Dave
