Strong left hand grip

A mate sent me a photo of my wedge setup in an attempt to improve my woeful short game. I looked at the photo and noticed just how strong my left hand grip was, I remember during that round I struggled with hooks and my swing felt very “wristy” for want of a better word.
I’m not a grip expert, are the two things related?
You can see in the photo my watch as almost at 45 degrees ffs.

It's a little strong and if you are hitting it left I'd definitely be looking at weakening it a touch. Both hands.
Try and feel the club more in the hand, rather than in the fingers

If you hold the grip at the bottom of the fingers, it's easy to wrap the left hand too far over.
Try and hold the grip a bit more in the palm of the hand
