So I finally went and got custom fit for a set of irons a couple of months ago, ended up with a set of srixon 945s and loved them since the day I got them. Sadly had my car broken into last night and had my whole bag stolen, to say I'm gutted is an understatement. Played today with my previous set of irons but struggled massively so called it a day after 9. If anyone in the surrey area does hear of any srixon irons being offered I'd be very greatful if they let me know.

Why would you keep your clubs in your car overnight?

Because it's his car, his clubs and he can. Are you saying he deserved to have his car broken into? Hindsight is a wonderful thing. Ridiculous and insensitive comment and definitely not helpful.
To the op. Sickening feeling I know, I've been there. As others gave said, keep watching the free ads and e bay.

You're probably right but I'm hoping they try and move them on local, the head/shaft/grip combo is pretty unique so you never know.

Srixon 945's probably aren't that common (I've never seen any tbh) so that could give you a better chance.
Good luck with it mate.

I had my clubs stolen from my car when it was parked in the golf club car park a few years ago. The damage to my car caused by the break in cost as much as replacing my clubs! I firmly believe that the death penalty should be brought back in for stealing golf clubs! Mine were also custom fitted, and my game has suffered from their loss.

I hope you get them back soon.. The 945's are a very rare club and will be difficult to shift on any public platform without being spotted..

Oh, and I leave my clubs in the car quite often.. I suspect that quite a few people do..

It must be a horrible thing to happen, sorry to hear about it.

Question for all golfers to think about , is there anything in/on your car that advertises you as a golfer (who therefore might have golf clubs and equipment inside your car)?

For example, golf caps in the back window, membership stickers, any stickers relating to golf, etc etc??

Personally I have a couple of stickers in the windscreen, plus where I am here it's kind of a thing for sportspeople to get car stickers for their particular sport, hence I have a golfer on the back of the car. Add to that the obligatory golf cap always lying around on the passenger or back seat, plus the occasional golf jacket, it wouldn't be hard for a thief to work out there might be a nice set of clubs in the boot.

I wouldn't have any of these "adverts" on or in my car back in the UK. It's something to think about guys, if your car has anything golf-related on or in it, it's going to be a target if they're looking for golf clubs.

Hope you do get them back. There are some right toe rags around.:(

Your story highlights a risk that, as others suggest, probably quite a few of us take from time to time.

My own clubs have spent both Friday and last night in my car as I'm playing three days on the spin.:mmm:

Hope you do get them back. I know our golf insurance covers stolen clubs from our car as long as they are locked in the boot and not in view. To the OP does your insurance not cover you?
