I've been pondering all weekend about my bag set-up. I really want to keep my 4 wedges but I'm swaying towards adding a longer club and adjusting the wedge line-up.
So I'm going out today with out the 50 wedge to see how I get on.

Possibilities :-

Driver
3 wood
5 Wood
3 Hybrid
4h or 4i
5-pw(47)
52
58
Putter

or

Driver
4 Wood
7 Wood
4 hybrid
5-pw(47)
50
54
58
Putter

Can't decide which way to go!!

Imurg, I'm in the same boat. I've just picked up a new set of bats and the PW is 47 degree. In my current set I have the U wedge which is 50 degrees and its probably my favourite club in my wedge set up.

I currently carry 46-50-54-58 and it works well for me.

I am thinking of bending the 54 to 53 degrees and getting the 58 bent to 57 and ditching the 50 altogether. Icould just buy a 50 degree Ping Tour W wedge however a 3 degree gap is pointless, or is it! Too much choice these days. Maybe I should just go 47-52-56. (You can open the 56 to any loft you want, sometimes to much choice causes indecision!) I appreciate that its marginal and probably all in the head however I'm quite a poor wedge player, in fact I probably have the worst wedge game of any 5 handicaper in Europe.

(I have sold my I10's including the U wedge which is what's causing my dilemma.)

Some searching and experimental golf coming up over the winter in the wedge department me thinks!

Cofused.com :D :D :D :D :D

For me, the 5 wood and the 3 hybrid are far too similar in the jobs they do. Ditch one or the other and get the 50* in.

Do what I did... just drop the pitching wedge. My 50° is close enough.

or get your wedge cranked to 48.5° and drop the 50.
