Followed a 3 ball yesterday that had 2 in the group with these things. Yes they did take longer and it's impossible to use one without looking like a knob

Doesn't mean those using them are knobs.
If you look like a knob with a remote controlled trolley, then you are a knob with a remote controlled trolley. I'm 95% certain of that.

There must be some skill involved in using a remote controlled trolley without looking like a knob. I don't know how that is done.

But if you are simply a knob in the first place, is there a trolley that could fool people into believing that you are not a knob? I don't know how that is done either.

Happy to be called a knob…it ain’t gonna hurt me.
However the greater knob is the knob who doesn’t turn his leccy trolley off when he goes to putt or play a shot and it trundles off onto a green, into a bunker, across a tee……..
My remote is in my pocket, so I occasionally look like I’m playing pocket billiards:)

I have been that greater knob twice. Saved by a tree on both occasions.

I shall wait for a trolley maker's advertising slogan. "You won't ever look like a knob again."

Into the pond is still the classic and the frantic efforts to get trolley, bag and contents out without falling in. At this moment in time it has happened but never say never

I use a remote control trolley and so almost certainly look like an even bigger knob than normal. However, the idea that they take longer is nonsense. When approaching a green, I can grab my putter, walk straight on to the green and send my bag to the next tee box. With a standard trolley, I would have to walk around the green with my bag, then walk back on to the green, then walk back to my bag when finished. It is probably a minimal amount of time saved but it definitely doesn't take longer.

No idea what you're talking about 🤷‍♂️ How does not having the budget (or inclination for one) mean giving up golf. If its a joke sadly lacking in the humour department
If you need to ask for alternatives to a Stewart “for those on a budget?” then I fear you have no choice but to give up the game. Or employ a caddie?

Not a fan of remote control trolleys but can see the appeal

Seen plenty use them and be very competent with them and on the whole respectful of when they move it etc

Did once see a whole society at Hawkstone park with them - 20 plus people with Stewart’s and many of them not having a clue how to use them

Still no idea what you're on about. Onto ignore as I can't be bothered
I’ll spell it out then. Why did you ask a question you know the answer to? Theres plenty of trolleys available for “those on a budget” as you well know. Your comment was just a sly dig at Stewart owners, same as your “money to burn” comment.

I don't know if their owners look like knobs, but I can confirm that whenever a remote trolley near me starts to move, I do think it's rolling away and panic and try and catch it.

No sly dig. If I wanted a Stewart I could find a way to get it and don't begrudge those that have one. I just happen to think there are better makes and models out there for a fraction of the cost. Same with those with top end state of the art clubs and everything else. If they want them and can afford it go ahead. Not for me

I watch some e take his new trolley out of his van on his 60th birthday as a gift from his wife, parade down to the bag of the club house where we all leave our clubs grinning like a Cheshire Cat. He had breakfast, went to leave the club to go to the chipping green and the gear box broke 20-30 yards from the club. It got returned to Stewart after covering around 250 yards and after a 3 month back and forth he pulled his 8 year old motocaddy out of storage and got a refund.

The irony I found was the guys were often in the bushes and 1 bag was left in the middle of the fairway to show they hadn't cleared the hole. (Should have let us through yes but a sensible idea so we didn't try and hit) That said it was never the remote one! So the person would have to walk back to it rather than summon it on
In my experience the remote users seem to deliberately walk away from their trolley or leave it somewhere so they can fiddle with the remote and drive it across the fairway. They always seem to spend more time playing with their trolley than a standard trolley user.

Isn't it strange how leccy trolleys users were "knobs with all the gear and no idea" when they first appeared years ago, and you weren't a golfer if you didn't carry?

The up side of having a remote trolley, is that yours will be in place or sent ahead, so you can manourve someone elses non remote trolley around as the ropes/lines dictate that and they are in a bunker/the other side of the green and you save a little time and effort for them heading to the next tee.:)
