Steve williams again

Look, racism, sexism and homophobia are rife in golf and it is our duty to clear them out

There is massive statistical correlation with the appaling dress codes in golf.

Get rid of the racist, sexist and homophobia by getting rid of the dress code thinking that goes with it.

Bring in no collars and jeans like Sir Nick Faldo is wearing in another golf magazine this week

Bet you typed that with your shirt hanging out Steve ?:p:D

It could not give a toss about Tiger Woods or Steve Williams and sincerely hope I never have the misfortune of meeting either of them.

I do find it quite depressing though that this storm in a teacup warrants 11 pages of responses on this forum. It is a non-story really. A stupid caddy said something idiotic about a golfer/miser/slut and it becomes global news. Pur-lease.

I am even considering starting a thread on custom fitting or GPS devices as a diversionary measure. Is Ethan around?

I beg to differ. Not had much chance to log on the last few days, but it’s heartening to see how serious this issue has been taken and the number of post on the subject. I spent some time reading them all.

My stand on racism is zero tolerance. “Storm in a teacup” Snelly, absolutely not. Sport of any kind must not only be intolerant towards all racism, but be seen to be so. I don’t believe in taking someone’s livelihood away, but how can this man escape at least some token punishment? Private or public makes no difference, but how can large function with the press in attendance be deemed anything other than public.

Is the man a racist or an idiot? Both; in my view. Irrespective of what Woods say’s to the press, I do not accept a person using that kind of language in front of a large audience is anything else but racist. If he called him a F*****g ar**h**e, we would of all said tut! tut! But black ar**h**e revealed his inner prejudices
