Just watching sky sports news , williams made some remark about woods that he had to apologise for, he admitted it could be construed as racist .. havent heard it yet ,, SSN reckon Adam scott will sack him after this tournament , they saying it would take brave golfer to re hire him again .. doesnt know how to shut up that man ..

Yeah sorry here is some of it from the telegraph

The controversial New Zealand caddie had been asked on stage, during a dinner at the HSBC Champions in Shanghai, to explain his notorious gloating celebration after Adam Scott’s win at Akron in August. He replied, in reference to Woods: “My aim was to shove it right up that black --------.”

Yikes he does lack some cop on doesnt he

He really needs to remember who and what he is. A caddie. Not some sporting megastar. He is arrogant beyond belief.

Personally, I think he and Woods are made for eachother.

If Adam Scott had any balls he would sack him straight away. But I suppose like all the other greedy players all he wants is a bigger slice of the pie. Steve Williams is and has been a liabilit, he only got to where he is by hanging on to tiger. Hope he fades away into obscurity.

If that is what he said, and I'd be amazed if it was, then looks like the end of the road for him. Without the black bit he'd have everyone laughing because Woods is an ar**hole at tournaments.
McIlroy might take him on though given the way he is going ;p

A couple of years on the sunshine tour in africa might suit him.

He'd either get lynched or a complete attitude adjustment.

Scott has already said that the matter is over and that the comments were taken out of context, I am not sure in which contexts racism is ok but supposedly (according to Scott) there are some

Have always heard that Williams is more arrogant that Woods himself. The guy does not have an ounce of class.

He is a moron, if someone had employed me and made me a millionaire over the course of a number of years, and then said it was time to move on, I think I would of thanked him for having had the incredible opportunity. He needs to man up and move on.

I'll be amazed if he isn't fired over the remark. The fact it was said at a private function doesn't make it alright.

Get a grip people. What he said was clumsy, bordering on stupid. But was most likely due to the anger he still holds about what happened. It wasn't overtly racist. He apologised straight after. In any work environment he would get a slap on the wrist and the matter would be over. I just don't get the clamour for a man to lose his livelihood. I doubt this would have even made the news if it was almost any other caddie. Sometimes I despair at the lynch mob mentality.

He made a fortune working for tiger and for some reason, as he has demonstrated more than once this year, is very bitter and twisted - oh, and a knob

Not quite. I can tell you without any hesitation that if I were to use the term "black ar*ehole" in my job I would be dismissed. End of.

Whether racist or not, the fact remains that as the former caddie of the best golfer for a generation (if not of all time) Williams is in the public eye. And as he is in the public eye, golf in general should not tolerate his loutish behaviour any longer. What sort of example is Scott going to set if he is seen to effectively support Williams' comments?

He didn't call him a "black a#$€<•le" though, did he. He referred to him as having one. Now I've not seen it, but I'm guessing that he does. The immediate act of contrition helps also.

with regard to racist comments, the intent of the comment is irrelevant, it is how the comment is received - by the intended recipient or indeed anyone else who hears it. For this reason an apology is also fairly worthless. He should have engaged his brain before opening his mouth.

How the feck can the intent be worthless. So, if somebody says something completely innocent, but some moron takes offence, then the moron is right? The intent is just as valid as the way it is received. A person can still apologise for the fact that it was taken (incorrectly) as an insult, but they are apologising for the fact that there was a possible mis interpretation, not the original comment.
Sorry stevie, but your post is ridiculous.
