Putting has been dismal, but managed 29 putts on Sunday (including a 3 putt from 3 feet - oops)
72% fairways (Scratch) - that's about where I'm at......guess that means I shouldn't be off 12.
Trouble is I use my 3 and 5 wood off many tees.
I thought I was ok on 33/34 putts, better think again!
I don't see how the number of putts can be "linked" to a h'cap standard. If you/i/we hit a lot of greens, chances are we'll have more putts than a scrambler that misses most.
If I hit 9/18 greens and have 36 putts, you won't see me crying, just regretting not making an birdies.....which happens a lot.
What it shows is that basically we don't hole enough. You look at the low handicap guys and they will rarely 3 putt (saving 1/2 shots per round) and will make more birdie putts.
I agree that the good scramblers will have a lower handicap figure assigned to their putting stats but you will find that other stats such as GIR will be higher % wise as they wouldn't have to be scrambling if they hit the target regularly.
Thats the problem with stats, they can be read so many different ways. Did you get my PM (well done to your daughter again)
Down to 11.4 from 14 last season. Been getting a lot of coaching from Kevin Craggs. Looking to get to single figures this season. Putting and short game are starting to come together now.
My driving accuracy is down to one thing, the Callaway Ft-i. It's unbvelievable. My driving handicap would have been 28+ before I had that, and that's without exaggeration. I used my 3 wood in every medal last year.
