Hi all,

I’m after some recommendations for the above. Basically I’d like a stand bag that’s fairly lightweight, compatible with a trolley (mine’s a powakaddy) but which also has plenty of storage space for when I take it abroad.

My current stand bag fits on my trolley, however, when it comes to storage it can’t compare to my cart bag, which is what I take abroad with me, all my clothes etc fit it the pockets, rather than taking separate luggage.

Budget wise, well, £100-150, happy to go second hand or old models in sales.

I have a Big Max Aqua Eight G and it fits most of that bill. Has one design flaw which id the umbrella position when on the trolley.

But it has the recess on the base for most trolley bases and sits nice. Storage is ok, not sure on price now as I got it for £159 in August.

Thanks, will check it out in the sales, quite pricey at the minute. Do you know if the ‘eight’ denotes that it’s the current model? I’ve seen there’s a seven, wondering if it’s the previous version?

Dig a bit deeper, get the Titleist StaDry Players 5 and you'll never look back.

Fits well on trolleys, loads of roomy pockets, properly waterproof, can't go wrong.

Looks decent. It seems to be a previous model and so I can’t seem to find many photos, assume the hybrid element means it can’t be carried or fits onto a trolley?

Apologies, on checking its the Dri Lite Hybrid that I have.

As far as I know though the Aqua Seven and Eight are different in size with the seven being smaller and lighter.

I have the titliest sta dry 5 players bag

It's fantastic

It fits on my trolly brilliantly (has a cut out on the base that a trolly will slot in and the strap at the top goes under a pocket on the bag for stability)

It is water proof (check)

It's straps are removable, this is key for me. When it's on the trolly I don't want the straps to be on it still so click it off throw in the boot

Plenty of pockets (one of them expands very well)

It's the only bag I have now , I've had it a year and it's the best bag I've ever owned

Edit I've just seen your price limit lol bit out of it.. I went for this to replace a cart bag and a carry bag so I have 1 bag for everything

I think it's worth the extra. A handful of years ago I decided that scrimping on the bag wasn't worth the hassle that came with not getting the best available.

Another plus for the StaDry Players 5 is that, unlike many waterproof bags, there are separate pockets for balls and tees/pitchmark repairer/ball marker etc, nothing worse than having them all mixed up in the same pocket.
The 2 drinks holders down the sides are great too.

Fantastic bag. I don’t think it has enough capacity pocket wise for the OP though.

The only improvement (IMO) to be made to this bag is a better cooler pocket. It’s too small so the water bottle sticks out in the sun and warms quickly, I don’t think it helps that the bag is dark grey either.

Fantastic quality, I think mine is 5 years old (ish) and still fully waterproof.

Yes 👍 this is very true

The big pocket has waterproofs, ball retriever, spare towel, waterproof hat , with room to spare

Other side pocket normally just the rain hood and a jumper

Valuable pocket has phone and keys

Then two pockets at the front one has balls, gloves, rain gloves , score card holder

The other just had tees etc

As you say 2 drinks pockets which frees up room in the bag itself

I never find myself going oh I can't fit that in the bag , if I need to carry more I'll expand the big pocket

Yeah, I love my Motocaddy Hydroflex. Had a couple of years and not looking to change it at all. No need to swap bags around, just use it all year round.

Ah the pre kid life where I had a bag in the porch just for the range (carry bag) and a trolly bag for the course. Swapping as I went

Sod that now. So much simpler

Today I carried for 9 holes , if I carry for the par 3 I take all the woods etc out

For the trolly I just throw the strap in the boot and crack on

Definitely a better life

Especially when I've got my locker in the garage that I just put the clubs away in when I'm not playing for a bit
