Square to square putters

Just curious, I'd never heard of them. Presumably just an Odyssey model name. I thought it was a technical description for a style of putter.
I think they had to call it something not related to the Lab putter.....so somebody had a few beers (what I'm doing now) and came up with something that sounded good at the time.....

It's a 'zero torque' design so in theory it doesn't try to twist at all during the stroke. LAB, TM, Odyssey, PXG....quite a few brands have now brought out putters with this technology

By going up, you mean for sale? Did you not like it then?

I was struggling and tried the s2s and subsequently had a lesson 2 days later. With the new approach I think the previous putter suits my set up more so going back.

S2s is a fantastic putter though, I just prefer my scotty now it’s got the 3* press grip fitted.

Probably keeping it for now....at some point the ER2 will likely start misbehaving and I like another putter to fall back on.....the ER2 is heavier than the S2S putter so I just switch to a lighter putter. Sold a few putters a year or so ago and kept my old first version Ping Fetch....I still putt well with that at times.

I've just been sitting here this morning trying to talk myself into buying the Mizuno 925 HL 7 or 8-pw to replace my Eleven brand 8-pw.
I thought this i have a s to s jailbreak and it’s half the weight of my Scotty Catalina.

Takes a bit of getting used to .
I putt ball level with my left eye and to get the insert to disappear ( recommend press ) my hands are very forward.
This is a bit strange.
Mixed results but worth keeping 👍

One of the things that bothers me about TM Spider putters, which I like the look of incidentally, is that when you see them on eBay or similar, the paintwork consistently looks pretty poor. They just don't seem to be finished well or capable of lasting over time. I don't want to be looking down on a putter head that looks battered. None of the other brands seem to suffer from this.
Could be the quality of the headcover or lack off rubbing the paint.?

Pretty much how my set up feels. I’ve always putted off the front foot and if I’m thinking about it hands slightly behind the ball or level at best so everything feels way back. Set up Defo so you can’t see the insert though. It’s a great putter, but a lesson has fixed set up issues and the press 3* on the scotty has sorted the hands.

The only thing the s2s has which the scotty doesn’t is a very soft insert which works great on rapid greens.

The forward press thing is one thing that worries me with these putters. I wonder why that's been deemed necessary? I putt with the ball slightly forward in my stance currently, but I don't think I have much of a forward press. So if I got one of these putters I'd effectively have to learn how to putt differently.

It must be the loft!
They are great from the fringe if you keep your hands level.
But the recommendation is forward press until you can’t see the insert.
It is a big press to obscure it which some might not like.
