Spring lawn weed and feed

I bought a Lidl scarifier and airiator. Quite frankly it is a thing of beauty.
The biggest plus is the ability to adjust the height setting.
I scarified the front garden around April And it looked fantastic. However the hot summer massively took its toll with dead grass in abundance.
I never scarified the back garden. I wish I had. It had never looked so bad.
So a couple Of weeks ago I scarified the back garden. Then airiated it. Its a two Minute job to change the different rollers over. The airiator proper kicks the crap out of the remaining lawn.
I totally concur. The baskets fills
Within a Couple Of lengths of the lawn. But that’s how much crap it lifts. I have a Bosch cordless Mower and that set on the lowest setting Makes
Light work of any debris left
On the lawn. And trust me there is loads
Now then. When I spoke To the green keeper At our place. He said get loads of seed and just whack it down. And airiating the lawn helps the seed get into the ground. And that’s what the seed needs to do.
When researching it re Laying seed. Bottom line. When the seed sprouts from just one spot on the seed. If it does not make contact with soil. It will Not produce grass. It will die. Airiating and getting the seed into the soil massively gives the seed a chance to germinate.
I bought 5 kilo off amazon. A
Mix of three seeds and it has been very good.
Last week I scarified and ariated the front garden and again reseeded.
One last thing. Apparently it is better to regularly lightly water the seed a couple Of times A day rather than give it a Good soaking

If it's dry, now is a good time to scarify and then broadcast seed. Don't mow (especially with a rotary) until there has been sufficient rain (or light frequent watering) to settle the seed down to the soil.
